At the end of the being a ruler had more to do with how the common public thinks about you. There was no revolt during Akbar's time but Aurangzeb couldn't even wipe the non existent maratha empire. He's a brilliant war general like Bajirao but Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Chandragupta Maurya , Akbar were much better rulers.

Who told you this?..It was not Allauddin khilji who destroyed Nalanda it was Ikhtiyar Uddin Muhammad bin Bakhtiyar Khilji .He was sent by Qutubuddin Aibak ,then Governor of Ghurid territory of India and founder of Slave Dynasty in India... Allauddin khilji came to picture after the fall of Slave Dynasty and killing of his uncle Jalal ud din Firuz Khilji.. actually Khilji tribesmen of Afganistan worked for Slave Dynasty before deposing them and took the throne for their own... Allauddin khilji really saved India from the Mongol (Chagtai khanate ) invasion by defeating them decisively in battle of Ravi . He was the first ruler to start rationing system in India to prevent famine..He was a secular person refused to adopt the law of Shariat law in his empire .Really he was a good ruler don't be confused by surnames many people have same surname that's doesn't mean they are same person..
