I can't even explain how much this band shaped my life. From carrying instruments into their shows in the DMV till being put on their guest list after I became a sailor growing up in DC and being friends with these dudes was my everything. I will never forget the imprint these guys laid upon me.

@@jeff7764 I’d say “nickel bridge” probably. It’s definitely relatable to exactly what I have going on right now with this break up from abusive husband.

I love the 90s so much. I'm biased, but I dont think music can ever be as good as it was then. It really was a special time to be a teenager.

Thanks for posting this, so many great memories watching this band live..... I kinda remember a dude that didn't sing or play an instrument just dancing around on the stage......definitely part of the band, but a hype man....great stuff

I haven't listened to this album in over 15 years... its even more amazing than the day i got it.. never saw them live, had tickets to several shows, but skated to much, couldnt stop..

Saw them a few times around 94 95 ish. Wreck Room and Somber Reptile ATL. They were dirty and living out of a van on tour. I remember thinking 'this is fucking rock n roll'. Absolutely fucking killed it every time I saw them!

@@whys0srs holy shit, I was at the under the couch show! I even wrecked my car in the way there but that didn't stop me. That was the best show ever. Ever. Circle pit in front of a 6 inch high stage.

They were an AMAZING live act! Was fortunate enough to see them at TAANG! in San Diego in the mid to late '90's...the studio albums are amazing but when I saw them live, my jaw was on the floor! Definitely one of my fave bands ever!

These guys have their own sound, really cant label it fairly. Great live and awesome down to earth guys, my sister introduced me to them when she was living in downtown Richmond

This band should be in the Rock Hall of Fame, but sadly amazing if not the best bands will never get the credit, instead we get Pearl Jam..

wow. Avail should not be discounted tho.

shane alexander much better than Eddie Vedder Edit: This is an album, for me at least, that every song hits. Every song is incredible and I'll always be saddened that Avail is such an unknown.

Best hc band of the 90's, especially in the melodic hc scene. They were cool, they had great songs, they kicked ass live and nobody sounded like them. "Dixie" and "Over the james" will always be their masterpieces imho. I'm only afraid that when they had their chance to get bigger and signed with fat wretch, their last 2 lp's weren't that good... I love tim barry's solo records but i miss them so much!
