Well, it's been 20 years, only because C2 and C3 aren't that far apart in time, in the game 'verse. Not to mention that in C3, Bertrand Bell was a character from Search For Grog (one-shot), Dorian and Fearne are from the Exandria Unlimited campaign, and Chutney is from Nightmare Before Critmas (one-shot). Lastly, Allura Vysoren was revealed to be an ally of Yussa during C2, and it's been revealed that Vex'halia, Baroness of Whitestone, is on the Tal'Dorei Council.

Some races saw complete reworks while others saw minor changes, but all powerful abilities like firbolgs invisibility and goliaths damage reduction are proficiency per long rest, and monsters were reworked so they’re less reliant on spells to gain the CR rating, making them easier to run as a DM

Its a very fair question brother. Wish I had a more meaningful answer. Other than my view that if what you already have is bringing Taldorie to your game and everyone is having a good time then you probably don't need this new update. Like need need this new one. But if you really want it or its a gift or something who are we to stop you. To me it seems like it has a few more classes, a bit more history and more lore. Really the exciting part is the 20 years on stories of the what happened to vox machina. Hope they did justice to that and i have no way to tell since I do not have the new book to compare with.! That’s exactly what I was searching for in the comments. I‘m quite sure they aren‘t in a store (yet?). Also the color of the pouch isn‘t familiar, but my hope is they bring out dice for the characters of campaign 2 :DDD it wouldn‘t make that much thematic sense presenting the new dice in context of the Vox Machina characters, but a man can surely hope, can‘t he :D let‘s just keep our eyes open :)
