Avanti International Orlando | Warning! Do NOT stay here!

It had to happen some time, didn’t it, but here’s how our dream Florida vacation started. Fortunately we are resourceful enough to be able to make the most of bad situations but we want to ensure anyone else considering staying at the Avanti International Orlando can access ALL the facts before booking. On the surface, this looks like a great base to use for a vacation in Orlando. However, before you decide, check out what we experienced in our room and with some of the management. Is this really ‘contemporary, modern, bright wood, rainbow interiors and calm’? You decide! Thanks Jamie. Was considering a cheaper Virgin Sale offer here, but no more! Current reviews are just as bad. Unsurprised you heard nothing - my feedback on Tui from 2 years ago - my son went with Tui to Barcelona and found they had no accommodation! Tui refunded the trip but not the extra £500 it cost to find last minute accommodation. No more Tui for me, and definitely no Avanti.

I did eventually hear from the hotel and tui. Hotel management were terrible with their passive aggressive response and it was Tui who eventually sorted it out, not the hotel.

Thanks for showing this video bro. I'm planning an Orlando trip with my mom and two daughters mid-June. I originally planned on reserving this spot because of how cheap it was and the initial photos of the resort showed. However after reading some reviews of its filthiness, absurdly slow and at times terrible check-in wait time, noisiness, etc. that changed my mind. Your video reassures me of it. It's one thing if it would've been just myself as I'd barely stay there and go to multiple places. I'm not putting my momma and girls through it to be cheap. On to searching for a WAY reputable and clean resort.

Absolutely spot on,we stayed here in 2019, was just about ok, then again for 12 nights in june 2023, never ever again.The only ok thing now is the pool, but even that is ruined by all the weed smoking louts that seem to be hanging around the bubble pool. The walkways are just filthy, the smell of weed, people openly smoking it down the walkways is outragous. Our room was a few up from the pool pump,the noise was unbearable. We asked if we could be moved elsewhere, they asked us to come back later in day to see if any other rooms were avaliable, this went on for 3 days. Everytime we went back ,the staff new nothing about our complaint, were un-interested, just did'nt seem to care.We gave up after 3 days. For a number of nights you could hear arguments in the night.We saw the police on several occasions called to various rooms, we assume this place is used other things apart from holidaying people. How this place advertises as a resort is beyond me, just do not stay here, pay a little extra elsewhere.

Oh wow, Jamie thankyou for this really important hotel review! This is absolutely shocking - not just far short of 3 star, but actually dangerous and a health hazard! that door and those exposed screws could cause serious injury, especially if guests are staying with children. The management respone is even more appalling - there is no question that the hotel is substandard and doesn't match what you were sold, and to treat you both like that when you complained shameful. Totally agree as we had the same experience. We had to leave as it was so below standard. I complained room with pool view actually was view of the wall of the restaurant and they responded it was pool side not view in their description. The bathroom was in serious need of upgrading with stained bath and tired. The noise of the water heater meant sleep was impossible so I disconnected it . I complained and was told the better rooms were all occupied. Im reasonably tolerant and accept quirky but you are so right. Pool area OK but for a little more get so much better. Rosen Inn or Plaza so much better.20% more for 100% more enjoyment.

OMG. Just booked this hotel for 10th Sept to 24th Sept 2024. Just watched your review 😢 - dont know what to do now. I picked the avanti because of price, location and the free shuttle. I dont drive. However, this appears to be not as good as is made out also. Limited times and destinations. I plan on visiting the 3 universal parks and 3 seaworld, bush gardens and aquatica- not disney. There is so much choice, but can't afford to do universals hotels. Your latest universal two part blog is what has made me spend my savings on this trip. Brilliant - Thank you x

FYI, the "water heater" is NOT a water heater, its actually a dehumidifier and you can unplug it, OR change the timer on it to when you're not in the room. They were apparently installed to prevent mould and damp bedding, which is symptomatic with having really cold AC.

I stayed here from 30th Sept to 15th Oct 2023 , I was in Block 1 3rd floor, the room was nice like the management photos, we also booked via TUI uk. The TV was very big, 40 Inch I think. I think block 4 was closed off for refurb during this stay. Our room was clean and tidy, and the air con was ok to leave overnight (72F) a new unit it looked like, it would come on and go off when it reached its set temp. I think the dirty walk ways you show are melted ice, for some reason people like to pour this out on the walkways. We had 1 King bed and a sette. Housekeeping came every day. I found the staff and management to be friendly. We arrived at a long check-in queue of 20 minutes, this after a 9 hour flight and a 1 and a half hour coach trip. Think this was peak check in time at 5pm on a Saturday, as that was the only time we saw a queue. The only negative we had was the people who wake early at 7am for the early park entry who think it ok to scream (as if they are being attacked) and run and play on the walkways, these are children, and their parents don't seem to think about it, parents will aslo shout out across the balconies, you got the cream shall I bring a hat etc etc, luckily I can fall back asleep.- so if you have a pool room view the balconies are are all surrounded by the early morning chitter chatter. For me i'd rate my stay as 7 out of 10 same as Disney All Star Sports.

Adding to this there sister hotel the point does not return your deposits all of them charge deposit each day and after 3 days expect to wait 31 day for anything else there management absolutely sucks and there good at trespassing you if you ask questions and then there noone to speak with at all

i went there for New Years, Birthdays and for going to Orlando parks, lets say it was not that bad since we have been there more than 10 times, and the staff even recognized us, when we went to check in we got a room on the highest floor on the big tower facing volcano bay, at around 10:30 Pm when it was new years we were celebrating my dads 50th birthday since his birthday is on the 1ST of Jan, when we left at around 11:37 we saw a couple fighting they were arguein for about an hour when we finally headed out his wife/ girlfriend was screaming because apparently the boyfriend threatned to throw his Wife/girlfriend off the railing when we got back we saw the same man in handcuffs at around 2 AM we never went back there again.

Have you looked at the universal value resorts? Depending on when you go there can be some v good deals. When we left this dreadful hotel we stayed at Cabana Bay, Universal Endless Summer Surfside, Aventura Hotel and all were a billion times nicer (all on my channel too)

Oh my god I’m so so sorry to hear this! That’s outrageous! I’ve had subsequent communication with som elf the management and they essentially were so passive aggressive and took no responsibility for what you see in this video: they have given us the worst service we’ve ever received in any hotel in all our years of travel, not to mention the worst room. Did they check you out like they did us? Erin did this against our will, against the contract with our travel provider and got picked up on it and was forced to check us back in. But still the same awful room even though they had others available according to concierge and booking.com. Can you use this video / all the similar comments below to aide your cause??

This scares me a little, we just booked this hotel for 8 nights in March. We saw bad reviews, but you see bad reviews on almost any 3-star hotel. We compared it to other hotels that weren't too expensive and saw that this one didn't have too many complaints compared to positive reviews, so we picked it. I'm hoping that we are one of the lucky ones and get a clean room.

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at the Avanti. I have to say my stay there was somewhat different. You do have some valid points though, the rooms don't match the management brochure but i do believe there is a disclaimer that says not all rooms are to that standard. The AC units are very loud. I found that my room was clean, the instances in your room I would also find unacceptable such as the bedding and the shower. I could live with the scuffed drawers but items hanging off the hinges is not acceptable either. I also found the management in the hotel very good. It has been a couple of years since I was last there but I would would most certainly stay there again. Enjoyed your review though and have subscribed, thank you.

Absolutely disgusting room and shocking behaviour from the management. In my opinion the room is not fit for purpose and needs a complete overhaul. This whole fiasco could have been easily overted if they'd apologised and changed your room to a renovated room. TUI needs to address this issue to prevent others from suffering. There's nothing wrong with simple 2* or 3* accommodation but the stars should relate to the facilities available. Everyone deserves a clean, well maintained room.

It was clean and well maintained. We’ve stayed at all the universal hotels and would stay at them again even if we weren’t going to the parks. Amazingly, this was the first place I ever stayed at in the US! Late 80s it was an Econolodge… Don’t remember it being as bad as it is now though! I remember the Friendly’s restaurant in the car park… Probably the best part of the hotel now 😂

This is disgusting and I am embarrassed this would be the introduction to anyone for their Orlando vacation! I cannot imagine what a day is like for their employees to deal with this gross property day in and day out and the customer feedback. I am an ex-hotel person and know the protocols for contracts properties have with tour operators. This is squarely on TUI to insure their properties are safe, clean and staff provide the services the contract calls for. Your KZbin influence will serve you well as TUI learns of this fiasco and I would expect you'll get ample compensation. The General Manager as well should be held accountable if there are pages of reviews indicating such service issues. The thought of that dirty bed in this new "clean and safe" Covid environment is appalling. I would have stripped that bed and dragged the linens to the reception line to get attention to the situation and alert those in line to do a thorough walk thru. Everyone deserves a clean bed. Period. I would suggest you continue to contact TUI on a weekly basis and file a compliant in any legal and formal process you have in the UK. Good luck and keep us posted on any follow-up. Aww that's such a shame. Disgusting! We looked at this hotel about 2 years ago when booking and it looked great but I was put off by all the bad housekeeping reviews. Looks like it's just got worse and worse and worse. What a shame! All it needs is some good managment and a decent housekeeping/maintenance routine. Contact better business bureau and take a lot of pictures and videos and make copies on a thumb drive and push and push even if u have to get a reporter involved to get expose them to the public I bet then u would have gotten a full refund

My son stayed there in 2015 and he said it was nice... seems its gone very much down hill in the last few years.. we've stayed at some great places on I Drive through TUI.. so, I'm surprised TUI are still supporting the place to be honest.. awful... Shame as the pool area looks lovely and my son said the location was good too... Hope you get some response ftom TUI soon 🤞

We have enjoyed every other hotel we’ve ever stayed in in Orlando for the last 22 years. This is the only one we’ve had issues with. I think that’s saying something!
