How do you decide what kind of gadgets to review?

sometimes it's mostly just stuff i've bought or have an interest in, occasional someone will contact and ask if i want to review something and if it's interesting I'll say yes. usually it's low cost things, if they're expensive they tend to be loaners which i prefer to be honest because i feel i can be honest as i'm not being paid to say things, not that I'd ever allow someone to pay me to give a positive review, if i think it's bad I'll say so!
