This film is gonna age well and if the other sequels are gonna be like this I’m all in..I love how they made the women powerful but didn’t weaken the men. I loved all the Quaritch lines.. the more you watch it the better it gets. I loved when Neytiri said this is not a squad it’s a family so many quotable moments movie was so good.

Agreed! Positive masculine energy and strong women characters compliment each other. If anything, it's something that the conservative should be happy about. But guess its still woke to them. Even the leftist thinks this movie is racist. Like, wth! The meaning of woke in this day and age is "anything I don't like". But I guess these type of people always tend to like at things in a political way.

Neytiri is a probably the favorite character for many fans, and for a good reason. She is competent, strong, but when Zoe Saldana is emoting she outshines everyone. Lesser script would have easily turned her into a snarky know-it-all character, but James Cameron is not playing that game. And thing I noticed after wat too many bleak looking blockbusters , Avatar has colors in it ! Imagine having a beautifully crafted worlds in the current year .

yes! Yes! and YES!!! People that rate this movie poorly think it's some kind of leftist agenda... "Oh they're against colonialism."... "Oh it's a movie for tree huggers" These people are so clouded by their nonsense they can't appreciate a true work of art anymore. The 1-star reviews are click bait from narcissists gaslighting movie lovers. Avatar is a masterpiece and I'm seeing it again next week. LOVED IT!!!!!

they judge this based on Cameron's recent "woke" statements. But those are twisted and misunderstood. They really did not watch the movie, that's why they don't know that of all movies that was released recently that has woke messaging, this one has none of it beside those you mentioned, which are not really that forced.

The thing that I absolutely love about this Movie was that anyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, religious background, cultural background, etc. can watch this movie and find something the can relate to. The story is so simple that any age can watch and understand but contain so much depth with the characters and lore to where you can continue to be invested in it like Star Wars, Star Trak, Lord of the Rings, etc. This movie contains some of the best action scenes I’ve seen coming from a film from the past 5 years. And for just the icing on the cake, Phenomenal, breathtaking visuals/CGI that revolutionize film tech to the next level. Every single scene and plot line was either important to the plot or plants seeds for the next movies to come, still finding a way to be relevant to the main plot of the movie. Every single idea or plot line in this movie had a pay off. This movie does all that while still being grounded to to what it is and keeping a near perfect pace to where I still wanted more. Avatar 2 is the definition of a Blockbuster Spectacle movie that we needed right now. Avatar 2 is a masterpiece film, PERIOD.

I think one thing to keep in mind for this movie is that it is going to be part 2 or a trilogy at least. So those unfinished story arcs - they are not really unfinished but will be resolved... I just wish we did not have to wait 2 years for it

@@OpticLureProductions yes I think of it was a streaming franchise they would have made it into a show with multiple seasons because the story is long. But it's okay, when LOTR came out it was very similar. Very long movies that work towards a conclusion at the end of the last movie only. In this case the culprit may be that fans are afraid of having to wait too long. If the movies come out shorty after each other, at most 2 years apart, this concept works out. But viewers have to be aware of our. With LOTR this was evident because everyone knew there will be 3 movies even when the first one showed. With Avatar this always seems less certain

Honestly I think the problem about this film is that it is not for modern audiences. People these days lack the attention span, cognitive memory to absorb the lore or even the science education to even comprehend semi-hard Sci-fi films. Interstellar is a good example of this.

Because of the reflection to how I feel about being a father in the future, it hit hard. Even though I’m not one, I can imagine being one and the feelings associated with it so it left a deep impact on me. That’s not to even mention the nature conservation part of it as a life-long animal lover and future wildlife vet. The whale scene was absolute gut-wrenching.

Nice to see some positivity for balance man. I saw it in 3D twice and loved it twice. It's deeper and more emotional than A1 and feels more confident in its execution. I couldn't have agreed more with what you mentioned and how the theater reacted to this movie I took my sister that wasn't too interested and she ended up emotional during some scenes my mother loved it. I myself was very thirsty going into the movie i bought myself a big water bottle i was so transfixed in the movie that I forgot to drink it. There are two things I dislike though the first one is that the movie wasn't longer and the second is that a couple seats down someone decided to bring a toddler and they kept going up and down up and down trying to quiet the child down. But yeah I ended up recommending this to many of my friends which which we already have plans to go back.

why do people always have to be so difficult, this movie has to be the best movie ever made in opinion (its fine to disagree). Not everyone has to love it, but the visuals were beyond insane, after watching the movie I wanted to go back purely on how beautiful it was. The story and pacing was also amazing as sometimes long films can feel dragged out and you sit there wondering when its going to end when with this film that isn't the case. So much work goes into creating movies and shows and people never respect that, you need directors, writers, costume & prop designers, vfx makers, the list goes on. Don't get me wrong constructive criticism is sometimes important in order to improve something for the better, however purely writing toxic comments over nothing is just stupid. People were getting things out of no were such as saying this film is "white-washed or racist", these are blue creatures from another planet.... ,some were also mad that they were using bows and arrows as its a "mock of native americans". Sure the film might have taken some inspiration from several cultures and stuff but thats a good thing as it can show representation. It's upsetting to see how people always as so quick to judge. This franchise is defo going to go far and im so excited to see it.

Thank you so much for making this video!! All the algorithms have been giving me are click bates about how bad the movie is doing and as Avatar 1 made such a big impression on then 10 year old me and has been my favorite movie ever since (I am not a fan who knows all the characters names and species and all that, however it is the sense of this world and the story which I have carried in my heart for most of my life now), these trashing articles made me really sad. I went to see the movie yesterday and.... I don't even have the words. I lost track of how often I cried during this movie. SPOILERS AHEAD Tears of joy whenever I saw Kiri walking or swimming around taking in all the beauty of nature. Tears of grief when whales were hunted and murdered or when the eldest son died. Tears of love when Jake said "I see you" to his son Lo'ak and when the eldest son Neteyam was brought back to Eywa. During the credits, after everyone had left the theater, I looked at my mom and I cried. Like true, deep emotional crying, I could barely breathe. And I felt unable to speak until going to sleep at night. That is how deep I felt it; The story and what it means to me. And I am for sure gonna tell everyone I love to see the movie. I will financially help my Dayak (indigenous peoples of Borneo) friend to be able to go see the movie with a friend if I can! As I know it will mean a lot to them to be able to experience this story. Keep spreading the love, people! -Mel

In my opinion, James Cameron putting his name on a film is the Hollywood equivalent of a famous artist painting a red dot on a blank canvas and selling it for 100 million dollars. I feel that audiences put more stock and value in the brand name of James Cameron than his actual work. If Avatar was made by a no name director, i do not think it would have done as well.

I find it funny how almost all of these Avatar 2 video essays use Neytiri in their thumbnail when she has like 5 minutes of screentime. The movie had good moments but the fact the emotional climax of the movie with the first sons death relies so heavily on the two characters of Neytiri and the first son who have the least development and screentime of all the characters is a massive flaw and is the reason this movie is good but not a masterpiece at all.

It's weird to see Avatar go through the "online hate" motions / discussions of huge blockbusters like Marvel, Star Wars, DC etc. While in reality, *most* Avatar fans are the opposite. They actually enjoy nature, are pretty chill and avoid negativity. 7:30 The lousy press came from criticising the superhero craze in the last 10 years. IMHO. But for me, he was talking about everything that I was thinking about. I also found the middle part slow when I watched Avatar 2 the second time. But when the movie started, I had to fight and hold my tears during the fishing scene. This means that the film worked. The most essential part of any storytelling is when the viewer/reader forgets that those are not real people. And this movie did exactly that. And it was a pretty good science fiction where I didn't have to roll my eyes at the usual pseudo-intellectual mumbo jumbo.

I think people who actually did scubadive in reefs and people who dont dive have a bit of a different view of the underwater scenes. They are amazingly realistic and since Cameron is a passionate diver, it makes sense. I did not like how they bent the story a bit to somehow get everyone to finally get underwater, but I suppose they had to make it happen somehow since Cameron wanted to show underwater scenes since the original movie, just the technology was not good enough back then, so he had to postpone it for over a decade

Just watched it and I can say I liked it more the 2nd viewing than the first. In a film with many stories at once, the 2nd time I focused more on Jake and Loak story, the first viewing I was so mad at the kid, this time I totally see his point of view and I just love when Jake tells him “I See You Son”. It’s such a good Father and Son film we don’t see that much these days. Also Spider wasn’t even annoying to me this time around like he was the first time.

Yeah I cant wait to see it again. It was a lot to take in on the first viewing. I actually liked the whole Spider story right away. I want to go back and focus more on Jake and Loak like you said

I watched Avatar 2 for the first time last week. I loved the first movie, which imho is a masterpiece as well. I was a bit worried that it was over 3h long. However, I gotta tell you that I did not even feel the time pass. The movie is amazing and got me immersed from beginning to end. Truly a masterpiece.

the one thing that makes me sad about this movie is that it's only going to be in IMAX 3D for a limited time. I'm sure it will still be watchable on blue ray, but it's just not going to be the same experience watching it any other way. At first I was kinda frustrated at how much money I had to fork over to see it in IMAX 3D, but within the first 10 seconds of the movie starting I was like "never mind, totally worth it."

One thing I will say is if you get an Oculus you can sit in a virtual theater and the 3D is amazing in the headset and so is the virtual theater...feels real...only bummer is wearing the damn headset for 3 hours.

I’ve been defending this film ever since it came out lol and I agree with your points. This movie isn’t perfect and there was only a couple nit picks that I had with one of the characters but ultimately The feeling I had in the theater was the same feeling I had for the Batman that came out earlier this year. It’s not super common for me to have my entire body just absolutely buzz with excitement from just watching a movie. After leaving the Batman I literally couldn’t help but start writing away at my own ideas of movies and songs, I couldn’t shut up about it for days. I’m so happy that that same feeling came to me again from a movie in the same year! I was electrocuted with shock and wonder and inspiration. And I haven’t been able to shut up about it since. There isn’t another film in the world right now with a setting and a world as beautiful and unique and original as Pandora. Don’t get me wrong there are other fantastic brilliant GOAT movies out there across all genres but this one feels so special to me it’s not an adaptation, it’s not a spin off of another series or piece of media, it’s a completely original world and idea for a message that Cameron is very passionate about and I’m certain that these movies will be his legacy. Also you earned a sub from ya boy I really enjoyed this video and a few others of yours I ran across have a happy new year everyone! 🎉

I watched it twice, once in english and the second time in kannada( a regional language in India ). This movie had me in splits with its underlying messages with its every frame. The second time viewing made me have a personal connection because kannada is the language I speak at home. I too like you love watching longer and slower movies because whenever a director comes up and says he is gonna make us sit for three hours or more, that's a hint of orgasm for me, in a polite way possible. The reason why Avatar 2 is not touching more hearts, (correction) the reason why more people didnt connect with Avatar2 is because of the shorter retention period of human beings, I blame social media and internet for this. For the final message it had to tell was we as men, yeah I am talking about men, who have surpassed all the injustice in the world have to take their stance, feel the oneness with the mother and do what is really neccesary, even if it takes you become a ruthless monster, but again for a good cause.😁

One of the biggest difference between typical 3-D movies, and this one is how the shots were filmed. For example, if you pin a shot too fast in 3-D, it makes you feel ill most directors learn to shoot into D and try to do it in 3-D. This film created a completely new technology that eliminated the nauseating panning the chop editing, we see everything in 3-D all day that’s why movies on the silver screen are so special. This was one of the first ones that made watching 3-D enjoyable.

Couldn't agree more! There were times I couldn't breathe as much as the characters, this movie was absolutely stunning! As much as people wanna think this movie is for the tree huggers, no one can deny how much we are all connected to the Mother Earth and how much we are all relying on it!

Now that I’ve watched Avatar 2 I understand why Avatar 1 was so big and successful. I was 12 when the first one came out and I don’t remember watching it on the big screen, so watching it later in life on a 40inch didn’t impress me much. I think of the avatar movie world as an amusement park phenomenon that opens up everywhere around the world for 2-3 months and everyone enjoys not only the beautiful storytelling but the visuals, the world, the entertainment of it all, the experience. People fail to see it beyond the concept of a “movie” like they know it. I believe that in a few years we will look back and acknowledge how the Avatar series changed movie theaters and the concept of a movie. I’m definitely watching it again.

I did like this movie. But it's not a masterpiece for two simple reasons. When Jake Sully moves over to the tribe of water they don't care about the fact he's being chasing by humans for some reason and they let him in (except for the wife of the boss of the water tribe) and for some reason they decided bringing the villain from the first movie to the second one and making the exact same plot, he wants revenge on Jake Sully oh woaw, amazing character development, that's a good idea... no. The final fight was boring and not only that but the kid saves him after he literally captured him, trapped him, almost killed all his friends and family, because well... a third movie had to exist you know. And a fourth one. And let me guess. The third one is about this guy wanting revenge again. That's going to be innovative.

I usually turn away when I see kids doing stupid stuff.. this one was good... The kid didn't lie about who was with him and reported right away when they met the bad blue people... this had family value... the father believed the avatar about hearing her heart beat and not thinking she was crazy... beautiful movie too.
