I think one of the things special about this film was how realistic they allowed the battle to be. Like of course there's protagonist armor, but they do also kill a lot of natives and some of our side characters. Most other movies just overpower the main characters so much the audience never has to worry about them. It adds a lot of suspense and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

How realistic? The humans used modern warfare forces (made for long range battles) as if they were melée ones, literally throwing them all in the put as if their weapon couldn't fire from long distances. In real life, artillery from miles and miles away would have started and ended the job.
@theratinyourgarage68563 жыл бұрын
@@williampitt1537 That's true, but they do actually use their weapons for long range in the forest battle, and the natives were decimated in that sense. It was only until the armored Rhino animals come that they are able to beat the soldiers back. You also have to consider that they also kind of don't know what they're doing because the natives are really unknown to them. They underestimate the number of their forces and they underestimate how much damage the comparatively "primitive" people can do. Sure, they have their animals, but they only have bow and arrows for weapons. In my opinion, its as accurate as a fantasy/sci fi war can be

The message is pretty racist though. It perpetuates the myth of the "noble savage" and promotes white guilt that can only be resolved by betraying your own kind for the sake of aliens that will naturally not only accept you but then make you their messiah. This is toxic, unhealthy, and unrealistic. Western culture is not so horrible as they portray it, and the Navi are clearly meant to represent Native Americans, many of which had tribes that were far more barbaric and warlike than the West. After all there were cannibal tribes, those that practiced ritual torture for their amusement, genocidal tribes, and those like the Aztek that took brutality and human ritual sacrifice to an industrial scale.

@m3mario3 жыл бұрын
@@Nobodyss21 They bought 57 million dollars worth of tickets in China so they can reclaim the number one spot? This does not make sense for a few reasons. 1) endgame only had a 7 million dollar lead. To buy 57 million dollars worth of ticket, most of which will go to the theater owners is quite stupid. 2) if they want to rerelease endgame to beat that record, they will have to buy an additional 50 million and give a lot of it to theaters unnecessarily. 3) very few people in the world actually care about this. It does not make sense to throw 50 million like that. Better to spend it on actually advertising of Avatar 2. 4) as much as you might not like Avatar, people in China actually love it as it resembles political situations in China. So a rerelease will sell tickets. 5) Avatar 2’s budget is 250 million. So 50 million is a lot to them. They are not going to throw money like that on a stupid record. 6) 50 million can do a lot in terms of advertising for future movies. Much better than this record can do.

One of the things I enjoy about this film is the semi realism of the vehicles and equipment used by the humans, sure we probably wouldn’t be able to build these, but they aren’t to “over the top” with the sci fi theme. No ridiculous rocket engine placement, no blue holographic displays everywhere, no laser weapons and the machines show size and scale, and even if they don’t, it can be excused by the environment
