Wanted to get a video out discussing/speculating on this movie before we start to get the expected big info drops next year. Obviously not a lot of specifics, so the focus here is more on the style/type of movie this should be. I am fascinated to see how ambitious they are with the storytelling and if it is a solo movie or linked into other projects.

It’s tricky, a lot of the basic stuff listed there like Suki being in the movie or the characters having some great bending moments I wouldn’t even really consider fanservice, but I suppose it’s all a bit relative. My mind more goes to things like the Cabbage merchant, the Boulder, Secret Tunnel, Leaves from the Vine, or lines like “That’s rough, buddy” or “Flameo, hotman” as fanservice, and yes an abundance of weddings, babies, etc. I wouldn’t object to any of those things being in there (though admittedly the BTE podcast has got me super fatigued on some of that stuff at this point), but I also don’t NEED that stuff to be happy. The most fanservice-y thing I want is a Kataang kiss. And Suki if we’re counting that. If there is a Zuko movie or project like has been rumoured, I also really don’t mind if most of the Fire Nation characters aren’t in it. Iroh would probably be the elephant in the room there since I think people would complain if he didn’t have at least one scene. In terms of what I’m expecting, since we don’t have that much to go on, I’m anticipating a good showing from the Gaang, particularly Aang and Katara. I expect a pretty strong and nuanced villain. Some nice moments of spirituality and the philosophy of balance. I suppose the stuff I would consider trademarks of Avatar. I think your outline is also broadly the story structure I’m expecting. Regarding runtime, Mike has been saying on podcasts (for his book) recently that they’re working within a 90 minute movie scope.

I could see Iroh either in Ba Sing Se or he is at the fire nation and he is intern Fire Lord until Zuko returns.

I think your idea-movie sounds fairly right to me, a good story and a bit of nostalgia. So somewhere along the lines would work for me :)

I wish it was when they were 40 to see chief of police toph . Councilman Sokka. And the yakone incident in more depth. Even though we know how the story ends I guess the creators like stories when they are young adults.

I'd love for the post-credit scene to be just the Cabbage Merchant coming upon an absolutely huge mess made in/ around Cabbage Corp say from damage from the "final fight" in the movie, he's not even surprised anymore and he just picks up a brush and starts sweeping, something akin to the shawarma scene in avengers haha

My only hope is that they keep it as mature as Korra was at the very least (or maybe even more). I also hope the writing can be smart and funny but also make sense within the characters.

I have to ask you about that what interests me as creepy and thoughtful: 1.) Who would win: Amon vs yun (in kyoshi book) many people saying that YUN is the most powerful character in the series and his spiritual fusion makes bloodbending immune against him is it true or is amon the most powerful character in the series in atla and lok ? 2.) Had the creator to kill amon because he was TOO OP for the series and NOT ONLY because korra was planned for ONE season series BACK THEN so BOTH reasons ! ?
@AirspeedPrime11 күн бұрын
1/ I would not say the glowworm power boost makes Yun immune to bloodbending, but it certainly makes him powerful enough to resist and breakthrough Amon's bloodbending grip. I still think Yun can be taken by surprise and controlled temporarily, but if he realises he needs to use his power to resist he should be able to break through. If Yun is fully on guard prepared for anything then I can see a scenario where in essence he is immune to Amon's bloodbending, but I feel Amon is powerful enough to at least hinder Yun. Amon is a very powerful character, but my take on his power level is that he is a small step above most "powerful benders" enough that he has access to Bloodbending at all times, but clearly well below the Avatar State. Yun empowered by Glowworm for me is a step above Amon in terms of raw power. Glowworm is notable enough of a spirit that this spirit boost I view as a more notable boost than the "Yakone Family Bloodbending boost". There are nuances here, where we don't see Amon use normal waterbending enough to get a great sense for just how powerful he is compared to others. The extent of Yun's glowworm boost is somewhat unclear given the unique way he gains this boost (defeating and eating a weakened glowworm). But in short the Avatar State is basically the most powerful thing we regularly see, it is the combination of physical and spiritual taken to the extreme. Amon is bending alone taken to an extreme, while Yun is mixing a master bender with the power from a spirit, the Avatar State power source in a lesser form. That is the core of my logic for my thoughts on this question. 2/ I do feel they mostly killed off Amon and the rest of the family because all day bloodbending is too powerful of an ability to have running around.

@@AirspeedPrime1.) but you forgot the full moon, what if Amon has a full moon, can he then 100% defeat Yun DESPITE preparation and his glowworm, is he then definitely finished regardless of whether Yun continues to use his spiritual fusion ? 2.) please, I thought that Amon was the most powerful person in the entire universe and not Yun and could yun easily defeat zaheer at flying, right ?? 3.) can Amon WITHOUT bloodbending and without waterbending compete against Yun with just brute physical strength and hand in hand combat as soon as Yun uses spiritual fusion with and without and does it also help Amon if he uses his secret subtle bloodbending to dodge Yun's attacks AND WITHOUT subtle bloodbending too etc.? 4.) one more thing, if yun breaks through amon's bloodbending, will amon then lose immediately or will it still be a long fight? I don't want amon to lose, will amon then have to use his mind and waterbending, but theoretically can amon also block yun's powers like the others, right ? 5.) Let's assume that Yun is the strongest character (only hypnotic it is amon) why was he able to defeat all of Team Avatar, including Avatar Kyoshi, even though Avatar Kyoshi is the powerful one (of course Kyoshi held back against Yun the whole time) but I still want to know?

@@noatak9243 1/ I would probably give Amon the edge with the full moon, still would have a few questions around just how powerful of a boost the moon is and us not knowing the limits of Yun/ 2/ How is Amon the most powerful person in the Avatar universe, Avatars, the Dark Avatar, many powerful spirits are all above Amon. But yeah Yun over Zaheer 100%, Zaheer will be very evasive and hard to hit, but I don't see what Zaheer can do to actually win himself the fight. 3/ Far too many combined questions here, no idea what you are really asking by the end. 4/ I think Amon is strong enough to make a decent fight of it, but Yun will be the clear winner. Sure Amon could take Yun's bending away, but by the time he gets into position to perform that move has he not already won the fight. So I do think this ability is mostly irrelevant to this fight. And to be clear I don't think Amon is getting into this position against empowered Yun. 5/ Key point is that Kyoshi didn't use the Avatar State. Highlighting that Yun is better than a base Avatar supported by a few other very skilled benders. Yun is incredibly powerful with his ability to control the ground over a wide area, it puts any bender without an ability to stay off the ground at great risk. Then he is so precise, accurate and powerful you are not even safe in the air. This is a big reason why Yun with Glowworm is so powerful, he can take out an entire Team Avatar Solo.

@@AirspeedPrime 1.) could you make a video about Amon vs Yun, do you have time, because it is very interesting ? 2.) my friend, we are not talking about avatars and ghosts because it is unfair and irrelevant, we should just forget about these supernatural ghosts, OF COURSE Amon can't beat them, so we are ONLY talking about human strength and that is quite clear, Amon is the strongest villain in the entire series, it is no wonder that the writers decided to kill him, because of that he can even beat Unalaq in the dark avatar state during the full moon, not so far-fetched with his mind bloodbending AND mind waterbending, I trust Amon to beat him because Amon is sooooo smart ! ? 3.) well, if amon with and without a full moon can't continue bloodbending yun on the ground then amon will just bloodbend him from ABOVE like yakone did with aang and MOST of all amon did with lieutenant when amon bloodbending the lieutenant high and higher than yakone did with aang imagine all your blood floating in the AIR CRAZY and you tell me how yun and a stronger waterbender than amon are supposed to resist or fight against this bloodbending hell level from amon bloodbending in AIR HOW exactly imposssssible !!!!!!!!

I am assuming Bumi has to be born based on the cannon photo he look anywhere from 10-12 and if thats Tenzins birth we know Katara was 34 in the photo so if we do the math Bumi would be anywhere between 2-4 in the movie if Katara is 26 which seems all but confirmed
@AirspeedPrime11 күн бұрын
It is all about how you interpret the age gap between Bumi and Tenzin. I would maybe say the age range is more 8-11, but it is super hard to judge. Either way we are in the right ball park for Bumi either being here or coming soon. Do we want young parents Aang and Katara or them as adults before becoming parents?
@aaron_icestone11 күн бұрын
@ I don’t mind either option but the only option that I mind is Katara being full on pregnant just cuz that feels like they are purposely nerfing her while letting everyone else be in their prime. Honestly, for me Aang and Katara being young parents would maybe offer more interesting stories, depending on Bumi we could either see them exhausted from taking care of baby Bumi, or we could see maybe if Bumi is older some introspection between Aang and Katara. Them thinking “He is around the age we started showing our bending, we are exited to see what kinda bender he may be! But also them thinking what if he is targeted by our enemies and we are not there to protect him!” It could also be a good way for us to maybe deeper explore Aang and Kataras traumas from the war, kinda like what LoK s4 does for Korra. For me I think we get a more dynamic version of both Aang and Katara if they are parents, because at this point they would have been dating for 12, and we saw them evolve in the comics from a kinda young immature couple to a very well balanced relationship.
