Considering all the cartoon live actions.. I have to say the actors fit their roles pretty good. I'm sure a lot of fans didn't like the storyline but with limited budget and limited episodes, you can't blame the directors as they had to fit what they can fit best. People wanted everything fit down to the T but yet no one talks about films like iron man and etc. I liked the show and hope to see season 2. I cant wait to see Ang started going beast mode using other bending styles. I think the point is to keep the fans wanting more and being thrilled for the next episodes to come.

​@@Jin_1398 I would personally say a solid 8/10. They really did a great job at casting, the effects and stuff are top tier and it does for the most part stay true to the original. My only critique is there's a few scenes that they don't include that really should have been. Since you can't really spoil the remake of a show made almost 2 decades ago I will just say they really neglected to show irohs true pain from Lu Tens death, the cabbage guy wasn't as prominent and the secret tunnel song was nerfed to the ground. They also left out the struggle Sokka had in accepting that women could fight. However, they did include scenes not seen in the original that were a welcome addition and very epic. 100% recommend watching this show though. Very well done live action adaptation

I just hope that the writers hold enough respect still for Mako and will not have Paul Sun-Hyung Lee sing Leaves from the vine. It was emotional enough just to hear the instrumental version of it play in the background of S1, but most importantly, it was Mako's song. I hope it remains that way.

He even flies while meditating, so I assume the difference of flight between airbenders and the flight from Guru is that all airbenders can glide and even fly a little bit (just as how firebenders can always do fireblasts to fly) but not to the same amount of control as that of the perfected technique.

This show is once again the proof that Netflix is unable to understand and respect the soul of the shows it is dealing with. Only teenagers that are not fans of the original show might slightly appreciate a show like this. Just to mention one of the many mistakes this show fell into: if you portray the Spirit of the Ocean like a giant Godzilla/Kraken Koi carp punching the water like a Hulk, you clearly have ABSOLUTELY no idea of where Avatar The Last Airbender comes from. Also, even if you're making a live action version of an animated product, we don't expect a cosplay show with hollywood style VFX.

this live action series would be so much better with a korean team doing the cinematography, screenplay, and acting direction/coaching, and a chinese team doing CGI/costumes, though this series is growing on me. kdramas pretty much trump most of the shows around the world with superb acting and cinematography. even their screenplay (storyline development, scripting, character arcs) is superior to most shows. the chinese pretty much do CGI in their fantasy shows really well--not so much the acting compared to kdramas.
