THE ICONIC and LEGENDARY "Secret Tunnel" meme song literally the most surprising change to the live action. I originally thought they skipped it for live action cause it was supposed to happen BEFORE they came to Omashu. This scene and the Cabbage guy are two of the most iconic things in Avatar.

I really love the funeral scene. On top of what you guys pointed out about Zuko being real instead of giving empty words/glorifying the Fire Nation, he also sat in that chair. To me, that's where an extremely close family member would be. Where Iroh's son or Wife would have been. But he has no next of kin (except for one brother?) as far as we can tell. And Ozai just walked off without a care in the world.... Also, the angle between the Freedom Fighters and Bumi didn't even cross my mind, so I'm glad you guys discussed it! Good take :)

Of all the reaction videos I've seen about this series, you have been the best! since you have focused on the plot and given a solid argument about what has been shown in the episodes; (while the other channels just keep complaining that it's not the same as the anime or that the actors don't do it the same, etc.) And although some criticisms are valid, the series is, in my opinion, very good. 😍😍😍😍

Benefit here is that most of the crew hasn't seen the OG series so there is nothing to compare against.

@@oberon9015 The same thing happens to me with mushoku tensei, people who have not read the novels complain a lot about the protagonist, and those who have read them complain about the adaptation that is not as faithful and leaves a lot of content that explains or develops the characters better. But that is the commitment that must be made in an adaptation, since not everything can be done the same. And the companies' budget is limited, since they do not do charity.

People were commenting and praising Iroh’s son’s death. But what Iroh really needed was someone to talk about how Lu Ten lived. That was real A1 compassion portrayed in that episode and I loved it. ❤

This bumi on some levels makes more sense than the original. Shows the bitternes and jaded haeart of someone who has suffered. Not just him but also his people having to make the hard choices. Not only that but also your best friend has responsibilities and didnt come through he may have been able to stop it.
@oberon90157 ай бұрын
Definitely enjoy this more than him just being an aloof goofball who didn't fight "just because."
@theeLonelyRedPanda7 ай бұрын
Exactly think about it Bumi was aangs age maybe younger/older depending. The air nation got wiped during their festival. So like everyone else assumed aang was didn't survive. That rage for vengeace that fire only lasts so long (no pun intended) Add to it bumis been alive since then and grew up in a war and is still living in one.And even if the next avatar came about who would know? Nobody from other nations share info. So how would you feel going thru 100 years of death/destruction only to find out your friend is alive/well hasnt aged a day. W/o proper context you would be livid.

@@oberon9015 he didn't fight "just because" he literally says in the original that it was not the right TIME to fight back example when his city gets taken over he waits for the eclipse when the fire Benders are vulnerable to strike and retake his whole city.
@oberon90157 ай бұрын
@@malikpierre-louis3343 Right, he's the most powerful earthbender on the planet but sits on his cheeks for 100 years, then lets his city fall because he's feeling neutral vibes. That's "just because" in my book. "Neutral Jing" is not any sensible explanation. If he could wipe them out in a few minutes he could certainly have prevented them from entering the city in the first place....what were they going to do, shoot fireballs from across the chasm? Could fire nation foot soldiers have done anything if Bumi fought them? Of course not

I don't even feel like it bias to say you're more moved by Zuko and Iroh's parts. They are the best parts of this LA, the two actors have really good chemistry with each other, and the added scenes were sooooo good. I also feel like both actors have a very good understanding of who their characters are to their core and it shows in their performances. The trio's chemistry with each other I feel is not quite as strong as it should be and that's why some of their scenes don't hit.
@darknessknows12357 ай бұрын
tbh even in the original series the fire nation character were the bigger fan favorites in the series. Even bringing Iroh and a grandkid of Zuko in Korra, and even now most people make analysis or other videos on them and not really of Aang, Katara, or Sokka(tho Sokka would get the most of them)

That's how it is in the animation💯 Team Avatar were even more lighthearted and goofy in szn 1 They're all great but every Avatar fan knows that the Zuko/Iroh Arc is PEAK ANIMATION and storytelling🔥 Even as a kid the animation used to make me laugh AND cry😭 Seasons 2 and 3 are even better cause EVEN IN THE ANIMATION those are the BEST and DARKEST seasons for a cartoon. So I think the LI is doing a good job so far storytelling/character building wise in regards to the next seasons Awesome reaction

The writing for the show definitely favors the fire nation and feels like they are relying on nostalgia and love for the original animation to carry out Team Avatar cast. I think this was the episode I heard the most backlash about because of how different Biko was portrayed…but for the story they want to portray in this ADAPTATION I understand the change and don’t hate it like my knee jerk reaction was because I kept comparing to the animation. Love Adorkable SIMPIN over Zuko and Director really is not ready for the truth behind Zuko’s scar 😂 Loved Lee’s analysis of the rock ~dilemma~. Was a nice little deep dive into the themes of the show! Can’t wait for the next drop!

40:30 The old Batman or Superman argument......I agree that characters who have complex moral codes or who have to grapple with their own inner demons that are going to typically be more interesting than the more straightlaced heroic characters who you know are going to make the 'right' decision. Like Zuko is interesting because he's an antagonist/bad guy but has heroic traits....meanwhile the heroes have zero villainous or nonheroic traits so they're a bit duller by comparison. 43:15 Totally disagree with the whole choice convo.....not making a choice is absolutely making a choice, and Aang is wise (or just childishly naive, true) not to accept false dichotomies. Aang working with others to best ensure a positive outcome isn't that silly; that's how positive change is actually affected in the real world. Side note - yeah Bumi was fine. He's like the greatest earthbender on the planet....big rocks are a none issue. This was just a test.

It's the TFS cell cooking gohan. You're a pacifist, stand proud next to bodies. You wont fight but they're over there fighting with everything they got even if they know they're gonna die.

@theeLonelyRedPanda7 ай бұрын
@@oberon9015 Well this is a first. I'll try and explain the scenario so you have context better. Well TFS version which is an abridged. They had a villain called Cell monologue with a character called Gohan Gohan said he was a pacifist to the point where he didn't wanna even at the stake of the world being destroyed. Cell told him unleash your full power or i kill literally everyone, and gohan broke down in tears, so cell had gohans friends/family severely beat still wouldnt act. He called him a coward for not acting instead he chose to stick by his ideals. Why he said a coward patting himself on the back. A dig at pacifism, you can stand proud next to the bodies. And additional dig was they fought back even though they were losing but he's standing there doing nothing as it happens. Did that help any?
