Sup yall! This isn't my usual type of post, but with the release of Avatar: The Way of Water and me having watched it 17 times at the theaters so far, I felt compelled to release a video related to the movie that isn't a movie review. I absolutely love this song, its one of my favorite from the soundtrack. Also, I love translating songs into other languages, and it was a pleasure and challenge to translate Na'vi into English. I may make a Na'vi cover of this song someday as well, who knows? Hehehe
PS: Sorry for the bad quality of the audio, recording with Garage Band is hard because of all the static noise in the background... I did my best to remove it, but eh... XD

I've read the translation of the original Na'vi lyrics, and the inference that a single word can impart when you take into account how deep the Na'vi language is supposed to be, it's very profound. For example, like the first movie establishes "I see you" goes far deeper than just saying you are looking at someone or acknowledging them. It implies a deep understanding and even empathy towards the person you say it to. For the songcord, the first line translates literally to "I experience Neteyam" In this case, the word experience encompasses the entirety of the pregnancy and birth. The joy, of anticipating his birth, and the pain of going through labor, and the greater joy of holding him for the first time and looking into his eyes... All that summed up in a Na'vi phrase that translates to a single word. At least that is how it comes off to me. Having said that, this English cover is quite enchanting, conveying much of that deeper meaning that is lost in the direct literal translation. And you have a very lovely voice. Very nice video.

I was fully wondering what she was singing and I am so grateful to hear what she was singing in the movie Knowing what she was singing and what the song was about just made it so impactful for me because I understand more of the song in the pain of what just happened during that movie thank you so much for giving this and creating it

Yeah, i had to somehow make fitting lyrics to fill in the extra gaps where the Na'vi was more extended. Its never super easy to translate word for word, especially from an alien language haha. But so long as it captures the message and essence of the lyrics. And thank youu 😁
