The original script had humans returning to Pandora to harvest the Na'vi's dead bodies to synthesize into a powerful drug that when injected intravenously would give the humans anti ageing properties, but was later changed to be given to the whale-like Tulkun creatures instead. The title was going to have been "Avatar: Blue Harvest", which was also the working title of the first Star Wars film.

The bit in the middle with the sea creatures was the best part for me. The choice to take the time and live in the world gives everything else so much more meaning, and is the exact thing I’m frustrated with other blockbusters about excluding. I’m introduced to a world I can clearly see the filmmakers love and want to share, instead of underserving awesome concepts with inane brevity.

The variable framerates in Avatar 2 were so jarring for me. The whole 3rd act it seemed like they were changing from 24-48 fps from one cut to the next, back and forth mid scene and the shutter speeds seemed set incorrectly, the motion blur was off.... From too smooth, to janky and choppy, then back again, OFF, ON, OFF, ON. Really hope that wasn't a choice, and I just saw a bad projection.

That was the best part for me as far as the amazing visual effects go. Idk if that sounds sarcastic but it isn’t, I was truly impressed by that thing in particular. Overall 4/5 stars.

Look, I'm a big fan of Gunn. And DC's attempts at a connected cinematic universe have always struck me as straight up bad. But considering how critical fans have been of Marvel's phase 4, general superhero fatigue, and now the backlash against WB for throwing the baby out with the bathwater in this major recasting...I can't for the life of me imagine this new DCU being "as successful" as the MCU. I'm sitting here trying to imagine a world where anyone buys this. Just make good movies. DC fans are starving for good movies, not _another_ attempt at a convoluted shared universe where you have to sit through hours of so-so narratives just so you can understand what comes next. Marvel should call it quits while they're ahead, too. Just make good movies...and then _sequels_ to those good movies, if people want more. Am I crazy? Is that a crazy thought?
