Awesome shot and sound, mate!! Although I STILL miss those iconic TF-39s, used to get those all the time and heard it approaching when full throttle before it came. Also get these alot at my area, the modern one though. At least it isn't retired, but BRING BACK THE TF-39S!!!

I actually prefer the new sound much more, the old sound gave me a headache and the new sound relaxes me to sleep. The deep thunderous rumble is music to my ears unlike the screaming buzzsaw.

@@ChrisZoomER In a way, yes, but I rather like it NOISY, since NO OTHER AIRCRAFT had those engines, ONLY the C-5 Galaxy models!!!
@ChrisZoomER2 ай бұрын
@@BlackRedsPlaneSpottingChannel That sounds similar to how I feel about the sound of the old non-Q Dash 8 with their dissonant droning and howling whistle. We all hated it and yet we all loved it because no other plane sounds even remotely similar to the Dash 8. I just don’t like supersonic rotation of the fan which causes that buzzsaw noise along with tremendous stress on decrease in performance of the engine. At least the TF-39 buzzsaw is more tolerable than other buzzsaws, particularly that from the V2500. Since cancer and chemotherapy induced severe chronic tinnitus and it practically fried my auditory cortex, it’s about as bad on my ears as Concorde’s ear-raping afterburners. Nothing against any of these planes. P.S,p. Do you know what the older Dash 8s sounded like?

The Lockheed C-5 Galaxy is a fierce monster of a jet, only jet power can propel something that big!
@ShujaatRahman-je9lv3 ай бұрын
It's a Lockheed Martin C-5 M Super Galaxy. fitted with 4 powerful General Electric GE CF6 engines.its from Travis AFB and is landing. They used to have the GE TF-39 Turbofan engines but have been retrofitted with the new CF6. I see a lot of these beauties. Over my house taking off from Dover AFB as I live near it. Cool catch though.😄😎

What a disgrace the Military did to this legends Iconic Noise 😡
@FS2K4Pilot5 ай бұрын
The military’s concerns and those of aviation fans diverge significantly here. The CF6 gives more power, better fuel efficiency, better climb performance, easier to refuel, etc. This is all great from an aviator’s perspective. But it sounds pathetic.

Maybe its noise was iconic, but I like the deep thunderous rumble so much better. The old screaming buzzsaw gave me an earache after listening to it for just a few seconds while the new one relaxes me and helps me fall asleep.

@@FS2K4Pilot how can you tell?
@FS2K4Pilot3 ай бұрын
@@Vigh0-g1o By the shape of the engine nacelles and by the sound. The old TF39s had a much shorter outer cowling, with a row of blow-in doors just behind the inlet lip, whereas that plane has the long, uninterrupted cowling characteristic of the CF6 engines used on the C-5M. The big indicator, though, is the sound. Because of the unique 1 1/2 stage configuration of the TF39’s fan, it made an extremely loud and distinctive whistling and droning sound, which is beloved of aviation fans and unfortunately absent in this video.
