You may not have heard of Avebury, but it's the other half of the Stonehenge and Avebury UNESCO site. I was impressed to see how many different monuments there were in the area. Have you seen any Neolithic sites in Wiltshire or other places?

I, took my partner to Stonehenge and Avebury when she visited me in England from Texas. Castlerigg stone circle in Keswick is very impressive, and the scenery is awe inspiring!

I actually grew up in Wiltshire! Those foggy mornings remind me of my childhood. It's cool you're highlighting it in your vlogs. Funnily enough I never visited Avebury or Stonehenge so it's great to see them in your super informative videos. I return to England every few years and we always drive by Salisbury Hill to and from Heathrow Airport. I'm so glad you were able to get some drone footage of the sites to show the scale of it all. I'm a travel vlogger too and have just subbed for more content. :)

I think the fog acts a lot of atmosphere to the shots! It does look pretty in the sun too. I'm ashamed to say that as a Brit, I'd never heard of it either! I like how quiet it is there. I never like it when a place is too busy as it spoils the atmosphere for me :)

Do you can’t climb Silbury hill anymore? That’s sad. Not been inside West Kennet long barrow, but find that whole area amazing. Just love Avebury. Anyone interested in dowsing should have a great time inside that circle. Dowsing rods will show you where stones have been lost, give you an idea of places of energy. Maybe that’s what made the ancients build there? Whole area is fabulous. Lots of hill forts and ancient sites. Really interesting, thank you.

Thanks Glad you liked the drone shots. Most of the sites they think were used for ceremonial purposes. I think they don't let you touch stonehenge to keep it perserved. Yes they used to let people go up Silbury Hill on that path but recently stopped allowing it.

Wonderful video. I never tire of seeing people discover Avebury and West Kennet. West Kennet Long Barrow saved and changed my life. Here's the story, but I won't be offended if you're not interested. It's long and weird. I first went there in 1998 at the end of May. At the time, I was suicidal. I planned to be dead within the week. I went there because my siblings and I had planned a visit and I wanted them left with a good memory. As I got out of the car, I felt very strongly that at the top of the hill, I would find something that could save me. I started walking rapidly, leaving my brother and sister behind. Speed seemed essential. It was the first hope I had experienced in 18 months. I got there and went straight inside and it was as if someone had flipped a switch. My head was clear. The depression was gone. I could suddenly see how it had come about and what it was for. From that day on, I understood that the depression had served a purpose. I felt surrounded by love. I was asked a question, that was many questions sll in one. Some of them were, "Have you learnt from what you have suffered? Are you ready to mocpve on from it? Do you want to be healed?" I couldn't identify all the questions and I am still learning about them now, but I knew what answer to give, "Yes." My whole life seemed to click into place. Everything made sense and I felt excitement about the future. I also began to cry, because the beauty of the moment overwhelmed me. I knew David and Liz were coming up the hill and would soon be there. I'd kept my depression a secret and I didn't want to have go explain why I was crying, so I went out on top. I looked across to Silbury Hill and had a vision. I was standing on a silver path. I had a staff in my hand and was dressed in green robes and a green cloak. Again there was a question. I felt I was being told this was the path I had been on as a child and that it would be there for me to take at any time. I was also free to reject it, but if J took it, it would lead me closer to God. Again, I said yes. I spent most of the next year trying to discover what it meant. Then I felt pushed towards a book on druidry. I opened it and saw the words, "Christianity and Druidry". I initiated as a druid on 2nd May 1998. Later that year, my sister and I were in a Brecon craft shop and I saw the staff from my vision. Seeing how much it meant go me, my sister bought it for me. I still go to West Kennet when I can, to give thanks.
