Avebury Sunrise - Landscape photography on location. VLOG 3

A crisp, frosty morning at Wiltshire's Avebury Stone Circle. Turns out that there was a landscape photography meet up happening that morning, which is why there were lots of other photographers... I chose a bad day to go. But... I met and spoke to many other photographers which was great.

Loved the vid! Was in Avebury once as a tourist but regretfully hadn't the time to photograph it 'seriously'. The landscape looks amazing covered in frost - sad to hear that the pano didn't seem to come out great - would have loved seeing it. Keep on going with your channel ...

Dan Z hey Dan. Thanks for watching and the comment. Avebury is massively underrated. It's a beautiful place no matter what the weather. I'll keep my channel going, but it's hard to find the time to get out and shoot at the moment :)

Nice vlog - I haven't seen many landscape vlogs from the south of England - so this makes a change. There are some great places for landscapes in t'south. Just one minor point - at 3:37 you say you're going to use a "wide aperture to get the starburst effect" ..... you mean a very small aperture (well, it's not really a 'minor point' but as long as you know what you mean it's ok)

Geoff Chalcraft thanks for the comment and the view. I need to travel out of the SW soon! I did on my other video of the Brecon Beacons. You are absolutely correct, An error on my part! Must have been due to being almost frozen haha

Saw you comment on one of Steve O'Nions videos and coincidentally your video was the next on my suggestions. I can honestly say I've never had frost on a tripod leg, but I'm never more than few yards from my car, and anyone who suffers that level of cold deserves a "subscribe". Great video, and by admitting you were learning (first stitched panorama) made it all the more interesting.

Mark Harris you would have thought so. But one battery lasted me the entire morning. With juice left over. My GoPro that I used to film was struggling though

Seems fine to me. Might benefit from a tighter crop, but hey that's just my opinion. Looks great. Avebury is such a beautiful place. You should put Sidbury Hill on your to do list :)

Bri W Thanks! Yeah I could crop the bottom off easily, and make it a real panorama. Sudbury Hill is a great location. I've been there plenty of times, never photographed it though.

i got from ebay bit tricky if you use cable shutter release but it do the job, it's useful for astro panorama too. instagram.com/patrickdizonz don't consider this as a plug ✌️
