I know this is 3 years old but I just installed these on my 17 premium. I watched a lot of videos and after the install, noticed I have a CEL. Going to go over the car again to make sure I didn’t miss any connectors and all the hoses are on tight.

@@SICARIO1k Eveyone on forums is saying it’s due to my bovs and no tune. Previous owner had them but no heat X or intakes . Other friend had everything befire a tune with no issue except bovs. He still doesn’t have bovs so I think ima remove them and see if that’s the issue since it’s releasing air into the atmosphere throwing off the maf sensor and it feels slow . I thought it was my heat X not bleeder properly but I believe it’s the bov throwing off my sensors .

I know this is an old comment but typically blow off valves help relieve pressure in turbos extending the life I heard.

it does not damage, it helps and is beneficial for your turbos int he long run. The VR30 engines do not have a recirculating or vented system for the excess pressure. So you are doing it a HUGE favor.

HKS definitely has it's own style. Very loud indeed. Sounds good tho! If I'm not mistaken you are still running stock diverter valves with an aluminum chargepipe on your 335i arent you? No issues with high boost?

Yeah I'm still running stock diverter vales on my aftermarket charge pipe. So far they're holding 20+ PSI but I think they're due for an upgrade.

@@VehicularDIY ok gotcha I bet they are at their limit haha. I'm going to be installing everything all at once. I've watched your vids on those definitely easy to do it while you have everything out of the way haha. inlets,outlets,intercooler,chargepipe and going with the tial q. Going with a BM10 single meth injection as well. Tial Q should be more conservative then the HKS.

Great video. Did anyone have an issue with the BOV slightly vibrating against the white metal part of the bay? If so, what did you do to resolve it? Thinking about squeezing something in between

Highly recommend KYJelly to lubricate hoses. A little dab will do you. Strangely comforting there are worse engine bays than my N54. Old VH45DE V8 in G50 Q45 were much better organized.

Quick question though. So when you took out the vacuum line from the manifold and insert the T fitting what do you put inside the manifold where you removed the line and put the T?

Davis Truong if you don’t have them yet, once you order them request the BOV dealer to not installed the center piece that makes that whistle noise. Without that center piece, it makes that Whiplash noise you like. That center is located on the pointy bottom or too side depending on how you install your BOV’s. It’s were the hot air gets released.

No they didn't. I hate when people try to post informative videos trying to explain what their installing but only give half of the information on where they ordered the items from. I'm glad you found them. I ordered my silicon hose from eBay it's called treadstone performance hose coupler tee adapter 2'-1.375 spout. It cost me $22. And they stated they purchased the BOV for $150 but the link they posted had it for $250... I purchased the universal HKS BOV from eBay for $75 for each one. So the link they posted for 150 didn't make sense.

I purchased a Ebay one and got a tech at the dealership I work at to install it to the led strip on the head lights. He spliced into it. Looks identical to the dealer one, eff the $450 mark up to get it at the dealers.

Per AMS Thanks for reaching out! Our tuners do not recommend BOV's on this particular platform, the turbos are electronically wastegated. So by adding BOV's it would essentially make the turbos work harder than they have to.
