Lyrics: Like walking into a dream So unlike what you've seen So unsure, but it seems 'Cause we've been waiting for you Fallen into this place Just giving you a small taste Of your afterlife here so stay You'll be back here soon anyway I see a distant light But, girl, this can't be right Such a surreal place to see, so how did this come to be Arrived too early And when I think of all the places I just don't belong I've come to grips with life and realize this is going too far I don't belong here We gotta move on, dear Escape from this afterlife 'Cause this time I'm right To move on and on Far away from here A place of hope and no pain Perfect skies with no rain Can leave this place but refrain 'Cause we've been waiting for you Fallen into this place Just giving you a small taste Of your afterlife here so stay You'll be back here soon anyway This peace on earth's not right (With my back against the wall) No pain or sign of time (I'm much too young to fall) So out of place don't wanna stay I feel wrong and that's my sign I've made up my mind Gave me your hand, but realize I just wanna say goodbye Please, understand I have to leave and carry on my own life I don't belong here I gotta move on, dear Escape from this afterlife 'Cause this time I'm right To move on and on Far away from here Got nothing against you and surely I'll miss you This place full of peace and light And I'd hope you might Take me back inside when the time is right Loved ones back home all crying, 'cause they're already missing me I pray by the grace of God that there's somebody listening Give me a chance to be that person I wanna be (I am unbroken, I'm choking on this ecstasy) Oh, lord, I'll try so hard but you gotta let go of me (Unbreak me, unchain me, I need another chance to live) I don't belong here I gotta move on dear Escape from this afterlife 'Cause this time I'm right to move on and on Far away from here Got nothing against you And surely I'll miss you This place full of peace and light And I'd hope you might Take me back inside When the time is right

Fun fact: When I was a kid I thought the name Avenged Sevenfold meant the band had seven singers. So I had essentially envisioned this band as like a metal seven dwarves, and I was always trying to figure out which one was singing whenever I was listening to one of their songs. I remember when this song first came out and the music video was on tv. I was super pumped to finally see a video of them, but the shock and disappointment I felt when I realized there was only one singer and zero metal dwarves has haunted me ever since. I'll never forgive this band for that. They didn't do anything wrong, but I'll never forgive them. Edit: Holy shit this is the most likes I've ever gotten. Thx guys It's really nice to see rn.

I was introduced to this band by someone I used to talk to online on Windows Live Messenger 15 years ago. Listening to this just brings me back to how I used to sneak into the computer room late at night to talk to her. We lost contact after she told me she will migrate to Brazil. We didn't leave behind a way to get in touch and it has been so so many years...She's half Japanese and Brazillian and absolutely love this band. Minori, if you out there, somewhere...I'm here.

@pjutub9 жыл бұрын
Unguided Reaper exactly. and it's just because some "music industry" smart-ass found out that a 6 min. music video is too long for the, let's call them: "average viewer", because they get bored and switch channel... -_- sadly, Slipknot made this too with the Vermilion video, so you can't say that if a band is popular enough, they can and / or will say "f... you!" to these "rules". (I mean A7X probably wasn't that big shot back there at the time of this video)
@unguidedreaper77639 жыл бұрын
pjutub They may not say it in words but they sure as hell show it in the video. Why make the extra effort in keeping the video the way it was when you can be lazy and make money off a shortened video? Big company music logic. What the hell is this? Fan logic. I hate crap like this. I wish the bands would tell them not to shorten the video.

LYRICS Like walking into a dream So unlike what you've seen So unsure, but it seems 'Cause we've been waiting for you Fallen into this place Just giving you a small taste Of your afterlife here so stay You'll be back here soon anyway I see a distant light But, girl, this can't be right Such a surreal place to see, so how did this come to be Arrived too early And when I think of all the places I just don't belong I've come to grips with life and realize this is going too far I don't belong here We gotta move on, dear Escape from this afterlife 'Cause this time I'm right To move on and on Far away from here A place of hope and no pain Perfect skies with no rain Can leave this place but refrain 'Cause we've been waiting for you Fallen into this place Just giving you a small taste Of your afterlife here so stay You'll be back here soon anyway This peace on earth's not right (With my back against the wall) No pain or sign of time (I'm much too young to fall) So out of place don't wanna stay I feel wrong and that's my sign I've made up my mind Gave me your hand, but realize I just wanna say goodbye Please, understand I have to leave and carry on my own life I don't belong here I gotta move on, dear Escape from this afterlife 'Cause this time I'm right To move on and on Far away from here Got nothing against you and surely I'll miss you This place full of peace and light And I'd hope you might Take me back inside when the time is right Loved ones back home all crying, 'cause they're already missing me I pray by the grace of God that there's somebody listening Give me a chance to be that person I wanna be (I am unbroken, I'm choking on this ecstasy) Oh, lord, I'll try so hard but you gotta let go of me (Unbreak me, unchain me, I need another chance to live) I don't belong here I gotta move on dear Escape from this afterlife 'Cause this time I'm right to move on and on Far away from here Got nothing against you And surely I'll miss you This place full of peace and light And I'd hope you might Take me back inside When the time is right

Just imagine what It'll feel like when we actually cross over to eternity o_O There's a good reason why the current form can't comprehend it and would likely drive one batsh*t insane before probably immediately killing them from shock. Which is probably why the body either or needs to die/be changed/corrected/repaired upon passing under judgement. We'll never ever be human again.

Like walking into a dream, so unlike what you've seen so unsure but it seems, 'cause we've been waiting for you Fallen into this place, just giving you a small taste of your afterlife here so stay, you'll be back here soon anyway I see a distant light, but girl this can't be right Such a surreal place to see so how did this come to be Arrived too early And when I think of all the places I just don't belong I've come to grips with life and realize this is going too far I don't belong here, we gotta move on dear escape from this afterlife 'Cause this time I'm right to move on and on, far away from here A place of hope and no pain, perfect skies with no rain Can leave this place but refrain, 'cause we've been waiting for you Fallen into this place, just giving you a small taste of your afterlife here so stay, you'll be back here soon anyway This peace on earth's not right (with my back against the wall) No pain or sign of time (I'm much too young to fall) So out of place don't wanna stay, I feel wrong and that's my sign I've made up my mind Give me your hand but realize I just wanna say goodbye Please understand I have to leave and carry on my own life I don't belong here, I gotta move on dear escape from this afterlife 'Cause this time I'm right to move on and on, far away from here Got nothing against you and surely I'll miss you This place full of peace and light, and I'd hope you might take me back inside when the time is right Loved ones back home all crying 'cause they're already missing me I pray by the grace of God that there's somebody listening Give me a chance to be that person I wanna be (I am unbroken; I'm choking on this ecstasy) Oh Lord I'll try so hard but you gotta let go of me (Unbreak me, unchain me, I need another chance to live) I don't belong here, I gotta move on dear escape from this afterlife 'Cause this time I'm right to move on and on, far away from here Got nothing against you and surely I'll miss you This place full of peace and light, and I'd hope you might take me back inside when the time is right

One of those bands that I'll never get tired of listening to. Afterlife is a more underrated banger by Avenged Sevenfold that I think deserves more attention than it got as the singer's vocals go hard it especially when combined with the instruments creates a masterpiece sure to leave a lasting impression on you. The visuals in this music video look stunning especially the white background that shows the dedication Avenged Sevenfold put into make quality music videos for the public to enjoy. All in all I would say "Afterlife" is definitely an amazing gem worth checking out and one of the greatest songs Avenged Sevenfold have produced.
