Fun fact: When I was a kid I thought the name Avenged Sevenfold meant the band had seven singers. So I had essentially envisioned this band as like a metal seven dwarves, and I was always trying to figure out which one was singing whenever I was listening to one of their songs. I remember when this song first came out and the music video was on tv. I was super pumped to finally see a video of them, but the shock and disappointment I felt when I realized there was only one singer and zero metal dwarves has haunted me ever since. I'll never forgive this band for that. They didn't do anything wrong, but I'll never forgive them. Edit: Holy shit this is the most likes I've ever gotten. Thx guys It's really nice to see rn.

I took my son to see Metallica in June and A7X opened for them, they were great. I’ve always been a fan though, they are one of those bands that speaks to my soul...so far away is especially meaningful for me. I wish more people would let go of the comparisons and enjoy a band for who they are and what they stand for. If you don’t like it, move on to something that does speak to you. Not trying to sound mean, I don’t like everything so I move on and find what I do.

I was introduced to this band by someone I used to talk to online on Windows Live Messenger 15 years ago. i started listening to avenged when i was 12, at the end of 7th grade. i'd always known of the band, both my parents liked them but i never really appreciated it until that point in 7th grade after i've already tested the waters of rock music, but my dad got me into them some sunny day in june and that's a really personal memory to me, first time listening to a7x, not just hearing it, but it felt right because i remember being 3 or 4 and hearing my dad play nightmare in our car and i really loved welcome to the family. since then, i immediately fell in love with the band and it became my number one coping mechanism when i was going through shit and just the music means the world to me. my mom took me to see the clarkston show in august (and it got rescheduled to october) but it was a dream come true. but anyway it doesn't matter how old you are, doesn't matter who you are or what you do, cherish the music you listen to and dont be afraid to branch out and discover more of what you love.
