"Beast And The Harlot" This shining city built of gold, a far cry from innocence, There's more than meets the eye round here, look to the waters of the deep. A city of evil. There sat a seven-headed beast, ten horns raised from his head. Symbolic woman sits on his throne, but hatred strips her and leaves her naked. The Beast and the Harlot. She's a dwelling place for demons. She's a cage for every unclean spirit, Every filthy burden makes us drink The poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings. Fallen now is Babylon the Great. The city dressed in jewels and gold, fine linen, myrrh and pearls. Her plagues will come all at once as her mourners watch her burn. Destroyed in an hour. Merchants and captains of the world, sailors, navigators too. Will weep and mourn this loss with her sins piled to the sky, The Beast and the Harlot. She's a dwelling place for demons. She's a cage for every unclean spirit, Every filthy bird and makes us drink The poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings. Fallen now is Babylon the Great. The day has come for all us sinners. If you're not a servant, you'll be struck to the ground. Flee the burning, greedy city. Lookin' back on her to see there's nothing around. I don't believe in fairytales and no one wants to go to hell. You've made the wrong decision and it's easy to see. Now if you wanna serve above or be a king below with us, You're welcome to the city where your future is set forever. [2x] She's a dwelling place for demons. She's a cage for every unclean spirit, Every filthy bird and makes us drink The poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings. Fallen now is Babylon the Great.

I think I can provide an explanation for why each and every person who got "possessed" ended up in that position: 1) The first girl most likely was underage young and had nothing but the intention of getting famous, hence the contract and her enthusiasm when she received it. In a way, she (metaphorically) succumbed to fame 2) The young boy was being exposed to strippers and erotic dancers at too young of an age, which, at this point in his life, he's hitting puberty. By being exposed like that, it gives him the wrong mindset of how to treat a woman and therefore, makes him unable to properly respect women 3) The drunk male obviously succumbed to alcoholism and believes he's entitled to whatever he wants and believes he is invincible. His possession is through a shot of alcohol and symbolizes that intoxication has taken over his existence and all he'll ever know 4) The stripper gets possessed simply for letting herself be easily controlled by the people around her and therefore further influenced towards a downward spiral she calls her life 5) And finally the Harlot herself, possessed for simply doing the deeds of wicked people. If anyone thinks I messed up, feel free to correct me. I'm always up for what other people think.

This is was fricking awesome! Then I dove in to A7X more in my mid 30s and learned their story. I have no words... at the time this song was written, Syn was a DECENT guitarist, but honestly nothing that special. he fit the band's style perfectly and his solos really complimented the overall songwriting, especially in track like "the wicked end" and in this song. but nowadays, he has definitely evolved into a more well rounded musician who is respected outside of his genre. regardless, he still isn't a guitarist that I would call "elite"; look to musicians like paul gilbert, guthrie govan, and many others for some serious talent. A7X will always have a special place in my heart from when i was 14 and my musical tastes were expanding. I'm well past them now, but I credit them for opening my musical mind.

This shining city built of gold A far cry from innocence There's more than meets the eye 'round here Look to the waters of the deep A city of evil There sat a seven-headed beast Ten horns raised from his head Symbolic woman sits on his throne But hatred strips her and leaves her naked The beast and the harlot She's a dwelling place for demons She's a cage for every unclean spirit, every filthy bird And makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings Fallen now is Babylon the great The city dressed in jewels and gold Fine linen, myrrh and pearls Her plagues will come all at once As her mourners watch her burn Destroyed in an hour Merchants and captains of the world Sailors navigators too Will weep and mourn this loss With her sins piled to the sky The beast and the harlot She's a dwelling place for demons She's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird And makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings Fallen now is Babylon the great The day has come for all us sinners If you're not a servant, you'll be struck to the ground Flee the burning, greedy city Looking back on her to see there's nothin' around I don't believe in fairy tales and no one wants to go to Hell We've made the wrong decision and it's easy to see Now if you wanna serve above or be a king below with us Your welcome to the city where your future is set forever She's a dwelling place for demons She's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird And makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings Fallen now is Babylon the great She's a dwelling place for demons She's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird And makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings Fallen now is Babylon the great
