From their first all singing album. What a great album, and seriously shows a great improvement in their instrumentation and layering over waking the fallen. With tighter more complex solos.

My gosh. What a freaking voice. He was just starting to reach the peak of his performance. The vibrato and power behind already high notes is incredible. Thank God we have the ability to record so we can go back and listen to what once was, while the inevitable downfall came for this band. I don’t care what anyone says. I believe people are in absolute denial saying they like their new stuff. This band was a die hard favorite of mine. Big influence as a lead guitar player and biggest influence for all of my bands I was in. But I still had the sense to know when their music was not tasteful anymore. Their musicianship is clearly above all others. They can write anything and it feel exactly the way they’re portraying it, just like their newest stuff. But it simply isn’t something that sticks in your head or has any adventurous sound anymore. People are afraid to admit it.

I'd argue off of Libad and the stage theres a few tracks that get pretty stuck in your head. But yeah I do really miss this era. The melodies were, and still are, just unlike any other band. Its not the same band I fell in love with, but it is a band that I came to appreciate from a different angle in their latest years. I do appreciate that they stepped back from the sellout nature of HTTK though, that takes alot of effort knowing how much more you could make with safer music for the masses. Instead they decided to say that they are interested in different things so they made different stuff. I can't fault that, even if I don't have the same love that I used to for it.
