In a possible alternative world of the future, the Avengers have all been slain - except Tony Stark and Thor. Stark rescued the Avengers' children and brought them up. Now James, Torunn, Azari and Pym must face up to their parents' killer, and try to rid the world of evil robot Ultron. They find help from an unexpected quarter: the previously unknown son of Hawkeye, Barton.

What was thor even doing when he was still alive. I get it he became the king of Asgard but still he was always loyal to the Avengers.

He’s alive. But, Odin is dead. So, he couldn’t leave Asgard, even if he wanted to. As much as he wanted to

He became the new King of Asgard, taking Odin's place. If you watch Hulk vs Thor, it explains that Odin has to recharge every couple of years to replenish the "Odin Force" which keeps Asgard safe, hence why he doesn't ever leave. I'm assuming Thor, as the new king, would have gained the "Thor Force", which is why he couldn't leave for the same reasons as his father. But why he never sent down the full might of Asgards armies to save Earth from Ultron, 🤷‍♂️

Movie is my childhood but as a adult you realize that as a kid you missed the dark stuff in this movie and get emotional now watching it 😥 especially when later the kids visit Ultron's throne room you see he murdered almost all the heroes 😭😭😭

I watched this a few years back and just remember thinking ‘why didn’t Hulk just smash ultron?’. He seemed to have no problem doing so in the future, so why didn’t he just do it in the past with all his adult friends? He single-handily beat him in the future as well. It was just dumb and I couldn’t take I’m the story seriously - the explanation that hulk was afraid was…nonsensical.

ultron grew arrogant and complacient. and he already had just bested hulk. hulk took advantage of the smalle window of oppertunity and tore him in half. he was then thrown into space where he couldnt regenerate, easily.

in this future AU, the Avengers (and I dare say some of the X-Men and other super powered heroes) are all finished off by Ultron, the only members of the original Avengers team that survived that attack were Tony Stark (Ironman), Hulk (Bruce Banner), Hawkeye (Clint Barton), and Thor Thor technically didn't take part in that attack, because he was already away in Asgard being crownes the new All Father, Tony was unaware that Clint and Bruce had also survived and went into hiding with the children, Bruce went into hiding and was fearful of turning into Hulk again, Clint tried to rescue every person he could, but was eventually killed by Ultron's robots, prompting his son to assume leadership and the Hawkeye mantle
