No need to drill holes for pins, or cut threads... The easiest, quickest solution for that slipping rack is to put on a couple of lock washers. I have the same Aventurer as yours, but step thru, in the tan color even with the same Aventon rack. Mine has the same compression nuts as yours which alone shouldn't allow slipping, but after watching your video, I got a bit paranoid, so I took the nuts off added lock washers and snugged them back up. Further, I put a level on the top of the rack and tipped it just slightly forward (towards the seat), so if it does slip, chances are it'll go forward not backwards. I carry my little dog back there sometimes in a crate and don't want to take any chances with the fur baby, so thanks for posting this!

Good video. I have an idea for your rack. Instead of drill the rods for a cotter pin, find a drill stop of the ride diameter for the rod. Get two of them. Harbor Freight might be a good source. I'm thinking of the kind of drill stop that has an Allen head set screw. Slip the drill stop over the rod. Tighten down the set screw with as much torque as you dare. I think that this will keep the rods from slipping. Not sure it will work, but if I had that rack I would sure try it before I attempted to drill holes for cotter keys. 🚲🚲😎😎🎸🎸

Those long crank arms are the Aventure's biggest detriment on trails. Great upgrade. That said, you'd lose some torque and the bike will not be as easy to pedal without PAS. Most of the roads and trails I ride are relatively smooth, flat and straight. Pedal strike isn’t too much of a problem in typical riding but I notice the pedals touch down a little too easily when pedaling through corners with the stock crank arms. I’m was wondering what your impression was of riding the bike after going with shorter crank arms other than the obvious, less pedal strike. How much different does it feel compared to the stock set up? Does it take any more or less effort to pedal the bike? Is it easy to get use to? Feel weird in any situations?

Bungee chords can be a hazard on bikes. If the hook accidentally comes off while riding on a bumpy trail, it can catch on a spoke and then disaster happens. I don't use them on my bike anymore after an ambulance ride to hospital.

Great video and info- we ordered 2 adventure.2’s today based in large part on your videos! Quick question- I can’t find a reference to the name of your phone holder. Sorry if I just missed it, but could you post the name of it again? Thanks!

Willl the mirror fold out if the way if you want to flip the bike for maintenance for example?

Sure does. I can lay the bike on the ground on that side and it lays flat, or fold it towards the top of the grip.

Hey dude, do you have any issues with the rockbros bag and your water bottle? I bought this bag after watching this video and I’ve already lost 2 bottles in 5 days. 😅 The bottle holder elastic doesn’t seem to cinch down very tight.
@scotthardesty Жыл бұрын
I have! But figured out how to fix that issue. tighten the bottle up then put the cord over the top of the bottle. Seems to keep it in the back.

Hi. Thanks for video. I have the Adventure 2. Do I need the 27.2x350 or the 27.2x280 seatpost extension? Thanks

The 350 version. You will also need a 30.9 shim to make it work.

Thank you for the video! Just picked up my first eBike today, Aventon Aventure 2! Thank you for the tip on the sizing again from your other Aventure 2 video, the large fit perfect for me as I am almost 6'. Would that phone mount fit on the regular Aventure 2 handlebars if we have not added anything else to them other than what comes stock with the bike?

It comes with all those inner rubber pieces so you are good to go. So glad I could help!

Hi Scott - great reviews of the Aventon Aventure. I have the same bike and rear bag. When the panniers are opened up, where on the rear rack do you attach the short bungee cords at the bottom edge of the panniers?
@scotthardesty2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t actually used the panniers yet but it looks like it hooks on to the side mounts of the rack.

Hey Scott, I got the same lock as you did---only I have the step through version of the aventure and realize that locking the rear tire and middle bar together wouldn't be as secure for me since I don't have the top bar. Any suggestions for a different locking set up?

I have another e-bike that I ended up putting my lock on the side of the frame where the seatpost goes. It fits not issue and your leg doesn't hit it.

2nd question, I bought those same cranks for my AA2 and the bike shop said they cant install them because the current cranks are built into the torque sensor and would "damage" the torque sensor? very strange.
