I bought this bike almost two weeks ago…first of all I wanted to go is fast….but now I like to cruise…on the bike trails(paved)…I prefer to have 0 assists…then used the throttle to go faster…as long as you going 3-5 mph…the throttle will work…even on 0…this way it’s easier to maneuver around people on the trails…one thing about this bike is it’s really quiet…so you can sneak up on people quickly….but all in all I have speed anytime I want it…so it’s the best of both worlds…

Depending upon the trail, the location, and whether or not it's a first time ride on that trail will usually decide for me if I'm taking in the sights, or just cruising. I'm not at the point of running the rat race on a trail anymore. Enjoy the views and ride!

I have the level commute and couldn't be happier. Superior workmanship and very well put together. The bike has no problem carrying a 200 pound rider 30 miles in the highest range at 28 miles per hour. Of course the lower assist settings allow you to go even further.

I’ve got 200 miles on mine and so happy I bought it. I am finding that I don’t even need or use the throttle at all. I’m usually in power assist 2 and 3, and save 1 for starts. I feel like I did when I was a kid, free to roam and explore. I’m 67 years young. Numerous excuses to go to the grocery just for the 4 mile ride through quite streets and a park. Commuter is a good word for this bike. Range is at least 40 the way I ride and pedal.

I bought this after watching this video. It definitely handles like a MTB Hardtail, and has a lot of power. They now come with a Sunrace M4 shifter/derailleur setup which is pretty garbage…. I’m replacing it with Shimano Altura. The brakes are actually really powerful, which I didn’t expect given the name ‘bengal’ brakes. Beautiful frame as well and feels very solid. Also, keep in mind that there are no frame screw mounts if you want to install a water bottle cage, etc…

After spending months reviewing both comments and youtube videos of dozens of ebikes, it came down to this bike and the Ride1up 700. I rode a few fat tire bikes too and didn't like the slow steering, extra weight and unnecessary tire noise and drag. This bike is $100 more than the 700 and didn't have as good of a parts spec. It's only advantage is the 3 frame sizes. It's a real nice bike but I ended up with the 700 and glad I did. I'm 5'10' and it's perfect. Better brakes, tires, fork, grips, water bottle mount, nice color display, built in lights that work exc, and you can program your PAS levels and more. Love riding it. It's quiet and handles and stops very well. Only reason to buy the Level is the choice of frame sizes in my opinion.

I pulled the trigger on the Level, Step-Thru, White. For a 65-70 lbs bike it did just fine in gear 4 with no power assistance which was # ONE concern about ridding if I ever run out of battery life. Great review/video. This channel made it a lot easier to make my e-bike choice. Thank you. Ride On!

Does this hub motor have that drag that the Rad City has? Apparently it is caused by the Rad's re-gen motor and it was, well a real drag. And if you went over 25 (or 28 once re-set)MPH the drag actually slowed your pedaling until the speed dropped below the setting. VERY annoying.

It is so hard to find someone saying anything bad about this bike. I only found one downside to the Aventon Level. Mine is currently traveling across the country in a fedex truck. Take a look at how much the Aventon Level Battery pack is. $500 dollars. (and out of stock) other than that. I bought this bike having never ridden on one before. There is not ONE bad review of the Aventon Level anywhere and this bike has been out for about a year or more. The funny thing is.. The day I bought it. The price was 1599. It appears Aventon upped their game on this model over last year - probably because the Ride1Up is a slightly better bike - and value. The frame even has been modified so it doesn't look identical to the Ride1Up 700. I'm sure it does everything it is adertised to do, but there are lots of other choices - and I recommend the Ride1Up 700 as the closest competitor to this bike. 28mph is no problem and you get dual piston Tektro hydraulic brakes that will stop a truck. With the speed these are capable of, you need good brakes - but be careful: An emergency stop at high speed will have you over the bars.

@@ElectricBikeReport Got the bike put together on Friday night just in time for a full charge and a ride on Saturday. I ordered the bike and got it all in one week-no supply chain issues for me at least this time. Excellent processing and shipping times. Aventon sends you eMails along the way to let you know when they've processed the order, shipped it, and when it will arrive. The bike is packed well, and easy to remove for assembly. I'm pretty handy with tools and have had experience in tuning and repair of my own bikes, so I didn't need the instructions cuz "guys don't use instructions". 😀 I watched the video and then assembled it in good time while the battery charged overnight. Strangely enough, installing the front fender was kind of tricky for me because of the small amount of clearance between it and the front tire. I finally got the three screws adjusted just right after some fiddling. While the battery continued to charge, I took the bike out for a quick spin to make sure nothing was rubbing, and the gears shifted OK, and everything was well. Even though this is a heavy bike I had no trouble riding it while shifting through the gears without the battery. The next day, I took it out on my favorite trail and put a quick 30 miles on it. Since this is my first e-Bike, I felt like I still needed to peddle. I'm still getting used to the peddle assist and the throttle, but the way I used the bike was to keep it on paddle assist level 1 which kicks in around 10-11 mph, and use the throttle when needed on the hills while averaging around 12 mph. However you use it, this e-Bike is absolutely incredible, and just rolls. The bike computer display is big, and shows you just what you need to see for keeping track of your MPH, miles, battery power, and peddle assist info. At the end of my trip, I still had all the energy bars lit on the display. So, I'm convinced that with peddling on a trail with a few moderate hills, I could probably get about 60+ miles out of the battery. This e-Bike is built well and is solid. It rides great, and is just plain fun. I'm looking forward to going farther now and faster in the miles ahead!

Bought mine about two weeks ago. The step through version. Been riding it every day for 40 miles on average but have gotten to 62. I like to go fast but usually am riding in level 1 or 2. I did access the settings and bumped it up to 51 in Function 05P to get 32mph in level 5 pedal assist. Stopping power is fantastic, I have had to use it for people that pulled out in front of me. I haven't owned an Ebike before this one but I think that I chose well.
@hawleygriffon92902 жыл бұрын
Yeah, just bought mine a few days ago. Never owned an ebike before but compared to my old mountain bike, this is something else. Haven't tried it on steep hills in this area with grades better than 45 degrees but will shortly. Can't today as we have thunderstorms but maybe tomorrow. Did try it out on a short 1 block 35 degree hill and it took it no problem in level 2. Was able to get the bike up to 28.3 mph on a flat area, so thats really fast. I wanted a bike and not a scooter which are more common in my area though I've begun to notice a few more ebikes from various manufacturers. Supply chain problems meant I could have the Level in a S/M instead of a large or wait 2 months (maybe) for a larger frame model or else the Pace 500 v2. The store had v1s at a lower price and Pace 350s but I didn't want those. Cue The Stones "you can't always get what you wanted". But, so far I' very impressed with the bike. Just need to get some accessories like better lights than the ones supplied by the bike shop (these look like they came out of a dollar store) and some saddle bags and a carry all and a basket. Then I will be all set...

@@hawleygriffon9290 Glad to hear that you are really enjoying it. I'm riding as much as I can every single day. Yesterday was 32 days of ownership and the odometer rolled past 900 miles ridden in the afternoon. I would suggest taking the limiter off of level 5, just to unlock 32mph top speed. I ride mostly in level 2 though. I bought a second battery from the Aventon website (bought bike at local shop) so I can ride as much as I want although I can do that with one battery. I bought slide on Topeak attachments so I've got the saddlebags and the folding tote. A child seat as well for my 2 year old daughter. I haven't enjoyed something so much in a very long time! Just waiting for my 2nd security device before I can feel comfortable enough to actually park it somewhere without it being stolen right away. I bought a Kryptonite lock and chain from the bike shop, so that's a start. I have to adjust the forks too. The way they are currently set, there is no travel on them. It's like there is no suspension at all. And the saddle is uncomfortable. I need to get one with more springs or some sort of cushioning for bumps. Right now, hitting a bump travels right up my spine and with ruptured discs, that hurts plenty! But you are right, this is the most fun I've had in a vehicle in decades...

I bought one, but haven't been able to ride it yet. The only downside is getting it put together. I am not mechanically inclined, so I did not want to take the chance on assembling it wrong. @ElectricBikeReport3 жыл бұрын
Total bike weight is 62 lbs. The battery is about 8 lbs, so call it 54ish lbs without it. Double-check the weight rating on your Kuat per tray before attempting to load it. I'd say the Level's tires would work on gentle path trails, but if that's what you're predominantly going to ride it might be smart to swap tires for something with a little more grip. That said, the Level itself would be a fine bike on smooth gravel paths - it just comes with pavement-oriented tires.

@stevenpuglisi79852 жыл бұрын
Why would you put 65psi try 40psi

I've had my level for about 2 weeks now and I notice when I go over some bumps or cracks the front fork makes a rattle or a crack sound, has anyone else noticed this? It does not do the when I lock the fork out.
@thomasrussell29412 жыл бұрын
Had mine for about a month and a half now. I'm not sure about the front fork but I have noticed that the battery makes a pretty loud rattling when going over bumps, even small ones.

When it will available in India?

I'd try emailing Aventon directly to see if there is something they can do for shipping one to India

Was watching the video until you you lied and called it a 750w Motor. It is a 500w motor with a 750 peak. As an owner of an ebike store the last thing we need is more misinformation spread about motor sizes etc. It is a 500w motor with a 750w peak, thank you

He corrected himself and said that it is a 500w motor continues with a 750w peak ... here is a fun fact - the motor power is not everything - you also have to consider bike weight and rider weight, tire size and tire drag etc ... I had a chance to test drive 2 bikes from Aventon => the Aventon Level reviewed here and the big brother - the Aventon Adventure wich is much bigger frame - about 12 pounds heavier and with a 4 inch tires and a 750w continues motor - for city riding, asphalt and pavement - both performed quite close - with the level feeling more zippy and responsive and more fun ... The Adventure has pros for off-road, sand snow, uphill etc ...but on asphalt those 4 inch tires are not as responsive on tight turns

Can this bike actually hit 28 mph?

I bought a brand-new Aventure that arrived with a problem in the rear brakes. I have been attempting to get assistance from Customer Support for nearly one week to no avail. Aventon has my money, and I have a beautiful e-bike that I can't ride because it arrived DEFECTIVE!
@darodcarter20912 жыл бұрын
Hi. Have you've been able to contact aventon? I'm having the problem.
@svshootingstar3 жыл бұрын
The display DOES NOT show "battery percentage." It does show battery voltage, but you'll need a chart to convert voltage to percentage. In addition, the display will not retain the trip computer reading once the bike/display is turned off. It's a great bike with a $hitty display.
@ElectricBikeReport3 жыл бұрын
We wouldn't object to a better display. It's the one part that maybe doesn't fit the rest of the good aesthetics of the bike too.

I am getting one and I am having the bike shop take off the cargo rack, the fenders and adding wider hybrid tires. Also adding a light, wish that was included. Great review, thanks.

Like with riding any type of vehicle for the first time, cautiously engaging the motor is the best way to start untill you're used to how it operates.

A friend of mine has this bike and I fully agree with you....it was a bit of a shock the first time I rode it. I have a Rize Rx with a more powerful motor, and it does not take off like the Level.

So yeah, good luck Paul Sarkis (new Director of Customer Experience for Aventon) trying to make a difference in a company that values their profits a lot more than they respect the customers who make those high profits possible.
@devonrenn51743 жыл бұрын
You're clearly a competitor looking to trash Aventon's Customer Service and attempt to hurt their bike sales. I purchased an Aventon Level in December and my experience with their Customer Service was nothing short of exceptional!I'd highly recommend this company to anyone looking for an outstanding ebike for a very reasonable price.
@zerozeroseven25913 жыл бұрын
@@devonrenn5174 You are wrong! I am an individual who purchased an Aventure and have spent the last week trying to contact Aventon without success, because Aventon's Customer Service is nonexistent. You got lucky with your purchase, but I challenge you to contact Aventon Support right now and IF you succeed, please feel free to tell them that my next step is to dispute the charge with my credit card company because Aventon only gives customers 14 days to return a bad bike. SEVEN days have gone by in my case and Aventon hasn't even read my email request for support, nor have they addressed the Warranty Application I filed. So, yeah buddy, that's exceptional Customer Support for you...

Just read the reviews at the BBB and you will never buy one of these!!
@joeweider94712 жыл бұрын
i did, and most of the reviews were service or sales-related problems which EVERY COMPANY OF ANY TYPE will experience from time to time. i'm buying one from a local dealer, always the preferable option IMO... most of the reviews were not denegrating the actual product. the reviews online, both customer and expert overwhelmingly rate this bike very high and reliable, great product for the price... getting ready to purchase one myself, and i've researched extensively info on this bike...i've also ridden the LEVEL and it's REALLY NICE! :D
@Andrew-it7fb2 жыл бұрын
@@joeweider9471 I'm planning on doing the same from a local bike shop that's an authorized Aventon dealer. You might be able to find better online offers but I'll take the local support over that.

Yes, you could spend thousands of dollars on an eBike kzbin.infoUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ and get something much higher quality. However, if you're looking for a basic model to try out eBiking this is a great choice. The assembly is easy as far as bikes go (took about an hour for me to do, I'm not an expert). All tools needed are included. I added the plastic mud guards you see and a more comfortable seat. The other reviews are correct that you're probably going to want a better seat (Giddy Up! Bike Seat is what I got - super comfortable). The battery easily handles a 2-4 hour ride if you add some of your own pedal power. I haven't even gotten it up to top speed yet - it is very fast. Components are not top of the line, but decent for the price and work just fine. It works great on dirt roads and singletrack and pavement although too heavy to do tricks or any serious technical mountain biking. I'm looking forward to using it a lot over the summer. Tons of fun!
