Display and control systems: 6:30, Folding demonstration: 18:25, Battery overview and removal: 20:30, Ride test begins: 21:55 UPDATE: at 35:25 I observed that I was not able to engage the throttle while pedaling. This seemed strange to me, so I'm talking with Aventon about it. They said that you should be able to do both at the same time, I also spoke with an Aventon dealer who confirmed the same. The bike I used in this review was a floor demo bike so the settings may have gotten messed up at some point. If you have ridden the Sinch and can share your experience with the throttle while pedaling, please chime in!

I bought this exact E-Bike, Aventon Sinch and it is amazing. That said, it's my first ever E-Bike, and my first folding bike. It's very robust and sturdy, the warranty of 1yr is great. I am 53, the fatty tires aren't just for young people - hahaha... Battery access and charging is pretty simple. The battery life is great and provides hours of comfortable riding. I paid $1499 for this unit, great purchase ! I don't ride that often due to spinal stenosis. I have only one request from Aventon and that's to create a Sinch but in a trike version with back support connected to the seat. When you do, if you do I'd love to test pilot the product (trike) for you and make the purchase provided it's a good fit for me.

I bought the Sinch. Got it a couple of days ago and have been riding it daily. Everything that Tyson has said about it is true. It is a blast to ride. I had previously converted two of my road bikes to e-bikes. They are for longer distances. The Sinch is a good value. I did add lights and a mirror and a water bottle cage. I use clip in peddles so I switched the ones that came with the bike since I am use to clipping into MTB clips.

I just bought one 18 miles ago!! So far I like it. And yes the throttle thing is a bit funky but I got used to it quickly. I will say this... starting a motor and “launching” a rider takes the most mechanical effort. I sort of think they don’t allow for take off from zero so the motor lasts longer. Just a thought. Hi I also got the Aventon Sinch a couple weeks ago and because this review is from 2020, and they have the 2021 Sinch now, the two things that concerned him most are no longer issues. the tires do now have puncture resistance, and the throttle is now "on demand" from a dead stop. Except when in PAS "0" which is a good decision for safety reasons. Hopefully, those weren't two of the four things you learned from his review. Because they don't apply to your Sinch if you only got it a week or so ago. If you bought it new, that is.

To start moving from a standstill you can’t use the throttle as you found out, but you can put it in walk mode to get rolling instead of having to pedal. Thanks for the review. I've have been back and forth between this bike or the Rad mini. Sinch look more sleeker, but the mini comes with more accessories that I like (headlight, rack, fenders, a bell). Bike frame looks identical to the Maxfoot MF-19 hardtail. I guess the same factory in Asia pumps these out, rebranded to different specs to various companies around the world. I have 2 Maxfoots, I guess that would make them Maxfeet Lol but with dual suspension with 750 and1000w Bafang motors, cost a little over 2 grand each. Frame is built like a tank, very very solid, but you don’t really feel the weight while riding it. Recommend installing tire liners and slime, if you’re handy, fat tires are no more difficult to work on than any other bike, just have extra zip ties, and don’t lose the keys.
@ElectricBikeReview4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, good call on Slime. Was it difficult to find tire liners that would fit a 20" fat tire? I've heard some shops say they can be more trouble than they're worth because it can be difficult to install. Maybe that's what you meant? What do you use the zip ties for mostly?
@fzrnut14 жыл бұрын
@@ElectricBikeReview The tire liners were simple to find on amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U0FRT7M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They are a bit longer 26"-29" but can easily be trimmed down to fit a 20" tire with some necessary overlap. The hard cut edges should be burned/melted slightly to round. There are differing techniques to install these on youtube, but since I had time and wanted to familiarize myself with the bike(s), I completely removed the wheels, tires and tubes. This allowed a much easier and controlled install where I could center and tape down the liner with thin double sided tape to keep it in place, and at the liner overlap, I used some electrical tape to smooth over the edge, to line the liner edge, so to speak. If one has fixed bike flats and removed tires before, it's no more difficult. It's been 20+ years since I've removed a bicycle tire, and in an afternoon I was able to knock out 4 tires for 2 bikes. Just make sure you have the proper tire levers, know the basic technique, and it's cake! My observations on the stock fat tires are that, with the exception of the individual nobby nubs, the rest of the tire as a whole, is remarkably thin. It's not a question of IF you get a flat, but WHEN. I will def keep an additional tube, pump and simple patch kit in my tool bag. Zip ties are good for everything! Lol Well, in this case, to remove the rear hub-motored wheel, it was easier to disconnect the main plug by cutting the existing zip ties to get more slack to grab hold of, there were only 2 zip ties, but I always keep a bunch in my tool kit. The rear wheel removal was no more difficult than a normal bike, the only difference was the disconnecting of the plug and possibly the presence of a torque bracket, and zip ties.

My Sinch came with lights and FENDERS. Putting the fenders on the bike took longer and was a lot harder than getting the bike ready to ride out of the box. No instructions came with the fenders. You have to look at the picture of the fenders in the ads for the bike. Came with lots of screws and only 4 of them were intuitive as to where to put them. Tyson, thanks for the review. I reviewed the Pace 500 and Aventon definitely makes sharp looking bikes. How did you like the throttle not being live from a start, i found it cumbersome and after 200 miles of ride time I still am not used to it. The throttle not working while pedaling seemed wrong. The Pace 500 take off was super abrupt to me, it looks like the Sinch is more metered. Did you find the seat comfortable, I found the Pace 500 seat to be a real booty killer after about 5 miles! Thanks again.
@TysonRoehrkasse4 жыл бұрын
Howdy! I'm not a fan of the throttle not being live from a standstill, I think on a heavy bike like this it can be very helpful to have the throttle to help with getting started. For me personally, it wouldn't be a deal-breaker, but I'm also young and use cycling as a way to stay in shape, so I don't mind the extra exercise. Depending on physical capabilities and riding style I could certainly see it being a frustrating configuration for some riders. As it turns out, you may be able to use the throttle while pedaling. It seemed strange to me too and after talking with Aventon more, they determined that the bike I used for the review must have been misconfigured. It was a demo or floor model so other people had been riding it, someone may have been looking at the advanced settings and inadvertently changed something. I'm still talking with Aventon to determine a final answer on this, will keep you posted! I did find the seating comfortable, I think it's a pretty decent saddle that they've included for the Sinch. It is a different saddle than the Pace 500, although I have only ridden the 500 once about six months ago, and for a short period of time at that, so I can't really comment on their differences.

Great video. Bought this bike last week and currently have 41 miles on it. So far I’m happy with the purchase. The review is spot on. Aventon’s “real world” range estimates on their site seem to be accurate as I’m 170 pounds and am getting almost identical range in throttle only mode. PS: Any chance you can put a dead cat on your microphone? The wind noise is horrible.
@TysonRoehrkasse4 жыл бұрын
Sorry about the wind noise on this one! I have baffles on my setup but for some reason, they just didn't seem to work well on this review trip, not sure if they got messed up while traveling or what. Hey guys, love your channel and videos. I am torn between a couple of ebikes. I was wondering if I could just get a little input between 2020 Giant E+4 GTS and the 2020 NCM Moscow PLUS and which YOU would purchase if you had the choice. Both these bikes are available around 1700. The Giant ($1900) is used for 4 months, but the NCM will be brand new ($1700).
@ElectricBikeReview4 жыл бұрын
That's a tough one! Both are 2020, so even with a used battery pack, the Giant should be in very good shape. You won't get the throttle, but you do get a wide network of dealers and a more efficient setup (with the mid-drive). It looks like the Giant has rack, fenders, lights, and a suspension fork... so it's very equivalent to the NCM, just no throttle. I'd probably go Giant, but it's a close call and might come down to style, how relevant the dealer thing is to you, and whether you want a throttle or not :)

Cannot believe this is a review of Aventon, the all too true bike that reveals all figures on its website. Strange indeed..................... Why review ?

Please don’t ride no hands. You’re giving me a heart attack.

You can't even take off without pedaling before using the throttle! I would NOT own an e bike that has that limitation. NEVER. This bike is very over-priced. No go for me.

Young man, the Power produced by the motor is not rated as to how much in watts it Consumes, it is rated for how much Torque it produces. Until you learn that engineering truth, you will be a student, not a teacher.

You talk too much. Trying to act all smartie and whatever. I was riding my first Pro bike when you were in your Pampers.
