just to set the record straight -- Lumad Basakanon is the only Hall of Fame awardee of the Aliwan Fiesta for having won the championship three straights times in 2006, 2007, and 2008. The award is granted to the participating contingent, not the festival. While Dinagyang may have won in 2010-2013, this was via different tribes (Paghidaet, Pan-ay,and Panay-anon).. That being said, Rommel is acknowledged as the winningest choreographer in Aliwan fiesta

Robenil Longno that decision is made by the aliwan fiesta organizers. it wouldn't hurt if you know your facts first, before you rant or post messages. the way i see it, they only give the recognition: "hall of famer" to groups, and not to the festival/s they represent. this comment is just filled with facts, hope you could contain it. and yeah.. no hurt feelings din... susan's statements are true... and i think rommel also choreographed pintados de passi in 2005. i am not sure with tribu atub-atub of 2004, though... if indeed he choreographed it, congrats to him!

Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City has won the most number of wins in the cultural dance category including four straight championships from 2010 to 2013. Dinagyang Festival is the first festival to be inducted to the Aliwan Hall of Fame for winning five times (2006, 2007, 2008. In addition, Dinagyang has also copped second places from 2006 to 2008. Another contingent from Cebu, Sinulog sa Carmen, also won 3rd place year 2008 (both contingents, Lumad Basakanon of Cebu City and Sinulog sa Carmen from the Cebu Province, landed in the top three wherein Lumad Basakanon garnered the Aliwan Hall-of-Fame).[3] Other Aliwan Fiesta champions include Halad Festival of Midsayap, Cotabato (2003) and 2004 Dinagyang's Tribu Atub-Atub, 2005 Dinagyang's Pintados de Passi of Passi City, Iloilo 2010 Dinagyang's Tribu Paghidaet and Dinagyang's Tribu Pan-ay in 2011, won the street dance championship.

hindi pa official na hall of fame ang dinagyang at malamang hindi magagawaran yan... sa isang dancing contingent/grupo lang yan binibigay... gawa-gawa lang yan ng mga fans and supporters ng dinagyang na hindi maka-get over sa fact na naunahan ng taga-Sinulog sa hall of fame sa aliwan fiesta :)

As far as many observers are concerned your Dinagyang has a spitting similarity to the more famous Panay festival of Kalibo, Aklan the ATI-ATIHAN. You just try to change the choreography but the concept is the same.....ATI warrior.

We Cebuanos are really amused with these Dinagyang fanatics who tirelessly bash and criticise SINULOG. Their actions only indicate deep seated insecurities. No matter how many times Dinagyang have won in ALIWAN Fiesta. The reality is that SINULOG of CEBU defeated DINAGYANG in three consecutive times and that Dinagyang never had the chance to get even with SINULOG. hahahahaha YOU WANT REVENGE?
