Fun little fact about gates opening in or out of your base: In medieval times gates were built so they would open inward, because when the enemy would attack, the soliders that would close the gate could be behind it and they wouldn't get shot. If you’re playing on Console, specifically XB1/S/X, Scrap That Settlement works really well! Only downside is having to install DLC specific addons and addons to scrap enemy bodies, but it does come with the ability to scrap pre placed skeletons and bodies.

As for the mining helmet, the red light is one of my fav's, allegedly, red light doesnt ruin your night vision nearly as much as blue or white, so when doing astrophotography or just using a telescope people tend to prefer red lights. IDK if thats real or not, but for that reason, I like to use the red one on my char if they are sneaking about or are a night owl.

Be very careful with Scrap Everything. On the surface it looks fine, but down the line it can cause lag spikes and crashes due to precombines being broken into seperate pieces. So be mindful. A mod like Spring Cleaning as opposed to Scrap Everything is much more stable as it only allows certain things to be scrapped (not buildings or anything), which is usually just trash stuff and rubble
@RaiKov6 ай бұрын
Did not see it mentioned here, but I felt the same way whenever putting down flat surfaces like wood etc. There are certain foundation items (e.g., Concrete) that allow you to control the exact depth, rotation etc of the floor. It's still janky because the terrain is never perfectly level. But it is much better than having flat floors with the ground/grass sticking up. Can always use smaller stairs and steps to allow access for NPCs. Also, tip for all: *settlers sleep in your bed, take your guns, POWER ARMOR (if you leave a Core in them), food etc. Solution - have your home/quarters high enough off the ground so you can reach it by jumping. Settlers and raiders will not be able to get in and your stuff will be safe.*
