Great video series! The first one that actually tells me something about the race. Going there in September, so taking it all in! :D I do have a specific question though, do you recommend doing this practice day at all? Given how tired one will get during the week? Or is it not that taxing?

Cheers man! Exactly why I made it. None of the other videos show the day to day! I highly recommend the practice day to get familiar with the trail style. It’s not as taxing at it looks and is mostly DH. I was worried as well, but just pace yourself and enjoy!

Awesome vid! Planning to fly from Los Angeles next year to do a guide tour of mtb Madeira. Can you share your flight schedule and did you encounter any baggage issues? How long was the flight? Many thanks!

I flew from Boston, so not sure it’s relevant. I also don’t recall the travel at this point, other than the fact that I didn’t have any issues flying with my bike.

Sick riding man. Do you find a full enduro bike feels necessary for Maderia? I'm thinking about bringing my SB130 LR instead of my 160/170m enduro rig.

Solid questions and a tough one to answer. I was on a DirtLab: 145/160 and felt pretty spot on. My buddy was on a specialized enduro at 170/180 and def suffered a little on the climbs. I’d say you can get it done and be in better shape with the 130, assuming you know how to handle your rig well.

Great vid! PS TransBC is more technical and physically demand FWIW.

Just a correction. Its 4500 feet and not meters. 4500 meters would be bigger than the alps
