In this video, we take a look at integrating my old analog CCTV with an updated Hikvision Turbo dvr with onvif support.
We also take a look at setup some notifications that include a snapshot using telegram.

Excellent ! just what i was looking for. i have set up as you directed but when i click on picture glance, i just get the green video. not sure what is wrong ? is it my stream is encrypted ?

Yeah maybe one day however I don't think the pi would be able to handle that efficiently unless there was some pre processing by the camera itself or running software on a pc.

Hi The DVR sounds a perfect idea to replace my old analog system. Are you able to setup masked motion detection within HA using this? Also exactly which unit did you get. They seem to be around £150 GBP for 8ch here.

hey I got the hikvision turbo hd mine is the 4ch not really a model number it does have 7100 marked on the box. I do see in the nvr/dvr you can setup zoned alerts however I am not sure if we will be able to integrate that into home assistant I will need to take a look.

Great Video. Helped me a lot! Is there any way to have a snapshot sent to you via telegram if there is purely motion triggered or detected by the camera itself?

hey I am not sure if you have the camera listed as a motion sensor entity you may be able to use that entity instead however I do not currenly have a camera that sends motion trigger events to home assistant so i can not use this as a automation. I dont think you can do this with onvif at the moment, however i could be wrong.

Hey this was part of my older videos however with the interface and a lot of changes in HA I don't think you can set this up anymore I will take a look and see if it still is possible.

Nothing is stopping you from not including that rule, however it may cause you to recive a old snapshot o. Rare occasion

Hi late to the party (by 3 years) if the DVR supports OnVif do I need IP cameras or will my old cameras (bnc connection to the DVR) show up in home assistant. Thanks for the video BTW

Hey yes the ones i used in the video are still the old anelog bnc cameras as long as your dvr has this function you should be good

does this work with Pushbullet as i have followed the vide but just changed telegram to "notify.pushbullet" and it dont work love your videos

Hey I have not worked with pushbullet before however all the steps would be the same except for the pushbullet notification one you may need to search for an example of how to setup a photo notification on there.
