my stupid ass took my magic v2 to a rafting, of course it died completely, water came out from sim tray etc. so i buried it in like 500g of silica gel. 45 days later, it was ressurected... 0 problem, like nothing ever happened. CRAY!!

Only thing I hate about the Magic V2 is the software support. It's taking forever to get android 14

my v2's inner screen now shows a crease , not as deep but still seeable in curtain lighting areas , no sadly only temporary nearly crease free , shame you keep on getting rid of the v2 or you would see and feel the crease , best thing is the battery which sticks on 100% for a long time with the phone in standby mode

Bought one of these the other week because of your videos, needed a new phone and was interested in trying a foldable one next. I got mine from Honor, they had a £530 discount so £1170. Global version having esim was what pushed me Vs Chinese rom. Also don't care if it's a year old, the hardware is perfectly fine. Just hope it lasts durability wise!

Durability so far is fine, but I've been careful with it. I mostly use it folded but when I want to watch videos or play games I unfold it. I've only had it 4 or 5 weeks though. Camera is good but I'm probably not the best person to ask, it does what I need.

biggest complaint I have other than no android auto is the external glass quality. my screen cover that came with came off after a month or two and I have never seen a phone screen get endless scratches so easily without being dropped or abused . Also is it doesnt work in many areas of usa for calls

It was a great phone but Gbox and G space definitely made it less enjoyable to use at the time. Would I buy another? Most definitely, but as the V3 can’t be too far away, I did also hear that Honor were going to implement some of the RSR design on their new foldable device. How true this is I don’t know? But if they bought the V3 out with the same camera housing design as the V2 RSR or the Magic 6 RSR then I’d be throwing my money at them. Do you have any plans to review the Magic 6 Ultimate or Magic 6 RSR candy bar phones in the near future?

I have a v2 for 3 months now, my only complaint is the call volume sound , for some reason it's a bit low compared to other phones I used. Have any of you had the same complaint? It's sometimes difficult to hear especially if there is noise around me

Hey, you mentioned wi-fi calling working. I have the latest OS version with Google play running, I can not find the WLAN calling option anywhere. I can launch it via app "activity launcher" and "enable" it, however even then, no Wi-Fi calling. To add, my mobile phone carrier white listed the phone to use this feature on its network, but again, no luck. Any tricks to having "WLAN calling" show under settings and get it to actually work?

Love your videos as you know......but....... I think you have missed a massive story here. Magic OS 8..... It is awful. Almost to the point where I want to go back to a z fold 4. I hate it that much now!! Since OS8....battery life is 20% worse. The copy of dynamic island is crap and you can't turn it off and with it on you can't see notifications. Also you can't use a 3rd party launcher anymore as you can't get to the recent apps button/gesture. You also can't use a 3rd party calling app like the Google one as the phone flashes when a call comes in.

Update 22nd May 2024. Honor have released a patch for Magic OS 8. The patch fixes the 3rd party launcher issue with the recent apps button

I don't know if it is because it is considered sensitive data by KZbin? I can upload it to KZbin if you want me to? This is the link of the forum I found that I was able to use to figure out how to pair my watch. Just do what the Eric TA guy says and you should be able to do it in 2 or 3 tries I think. My recommendation of what I found works best to pair the watch is download the apk in the link in the forum from the comment of Aaron, and then download the update and all the plug in apps it recommends and then try and pair it. If you're not able to do it cause it says it is not compatible just delete the wearable apk but not all the plug-in apps it had you download and then try and reconnect it in airplane mode. I love your channel, but honestly the Chinese rom is not a permanent alternative as: - Voice over Wifi is not supported (that's a major problem as there are a lot of areas with bad receptions in Europe and without that you can´t use your phone number in those regions) - Google Location services do not work completely (Location history does not work) - Google Discovery does not work (blocked completely) - Alternative Launcher is not possible to use (blocked completely) - it is impossible to use a customized ROM as there is no way of unlocking the boot loader - it is impossible to switch from Chinese rom to global rom as Honor keeps a closed eco system and is not helpful at all. And unfortunately the global version rom (independent of MagicOS 7 or MagicOS 8 Beta) is not available for direct download. The only way is to update via phone services and that is region bound. Honor could have had a much higher success in the European market if they adopted their software policy, but I do not see this coming.

@@AverageDadOfficial Well looking forward to that video, but keep in mind that not every user is an advanced user. So if you have easy to do solutions, I´d like to learn about them. Up until now I did not find solutions for the points listed. For other points I have workarounds (such as not having eSIM in Chinese rom and using an esimme card as a substitute), but for the mentioned points I did not yet manage to find a proper solution. Independent of that I really enjoy your channel and appreciate all the hard work that you put into it.
