Look into a program called Carley for coding BMWs. It will fold the mirrors when you lock the call and a ton of other things you mentioned. Also, do you know about rolling the windows down and opening the sunroof and vise versa with the keyfob?

I just finally traded this car in for a 2019 X3. I loved this car and never had any issues with it; I did have to get a new set of tires after about 2 1/2 years. Other than that, it held up like new right to the end.

This is one of the few BWM's id buy because it has a dope B48 engine (same with the new 2.0 Supra) and Japanese Aisin Transmission.

Do you still have this 2017 x1? If so how has it heald up? I am kicking around the idea about getting an 2017 or 2018 and im wondering if you had any major repairs on it besides the regular oil changes, etc.. I do most of the minor stuff on my vehicles (oil, plugs, filters) but wondering any if you had any major stuff happen with it that may be supper pricey. Teying to see if I can afford it if I should get one. Im told they hold up well but have never had a BMW. But fell in love with the 2017 i took on a test drive this last weeked. Any and all info would be helpful. Your videos are great about it as well. Thanks in advanced for any extra i fo you may be able to share ❤

I’m a 17 year old that finances one on my own. My car holds up great, and gets very good gas mileage. As long as you find one with good mileage and take it easy on the breaks, you’ll be 100% fine!

Avrage most people put on a car per year is 15k mi. So anything less that that avrage per year is actually really good. I test drove a 2017 and it had well under that 15k avrage per year. It was at 23k... I'm on the hunt for one in my price range that is in the Metallic Orange or dark Metallic Green with moonroof. 🩷 The one I test drove was silver and I flet like it was too grandpa looking (color). I want more of a sport color. 😁

Jeff, I have a 2018 F60 MINI Countryman S All4, which is basically the same car as yours, and trust me, ALL the stuff you complained about is totally fixable via CODING! It's easy. I made about a dozen changed to how my car behaves. I made my mirrors fold-in upon locking. You can have it start off in whatever mode you want. You can change your door locking behaviors in the iDrive menu, actually, but failing that, you can code it. Even the DVD video playback restriction can easily be overridden.

Hello! You can close your trunk with key button but it's not available in USA and Canada cause your law it's looks like like looks. You can code it. In EU we have it but we can't get the alarm button on key like you have. Sorry for my English. I'm also X1 owner from 1 year.!!

We got our X1 1 week ago, it's the newest version because it has the new gearshifter and a dual exhaust (the previous models only had dual exhaust on the highest engine, we have the 18d), and the Xdrive badge is not anymore on the side doors but on the back. I was wondering what that cover is you have on the drivers seat? is it to make it more soft?

Check if you have Bridgestone tires, they are the cause. Another thing could be the condition of the roads, often in winter countries the roads turn to shit fast, i try to drive a bit more to the right or left, avoiding the tracks where everyone drives.

Hi Jeff, From UK. I watched a couple of your X1 videos-a few years old now- they are excellent. About 6 months ago May 2121 bought a Uk 2020 X1 M sport with a sunroof (just before the chip shortage) was announced. It’s in a metallic white (I can’t recall exact Bmw name) but like you I’ve found the car to be amazing. It’s only an 1.8i petrol which you’ll probably laugh at the size of the engine-yes a three cylinder!! I don’t know what BMW engineers did to smooth the engine but it’s brilliant and returns 40 miles per UK gallon round town. More efficient on a longer run. But in the uk i mostly do shorter trips and the occasional longer run. The petrol engine is much smoother than my old diesel BMW 3 series 2 litre estate F31. Diesel seems to be more popular in the UK at the moment - pending Uk changing over to the more expensive electric (and or Nitrigen??) in 2030-35) But anyway just to say thanks for your really good BMW X1 X3 reviews. As an owner myself it is really good to hear another owners view point. Your enthusiasm really does come across on the KZbin videos. Thanks for your great car review videos. They hit the information spot for me. keep up the good work. Dave. Uk

I went to BMW to look at the X1. I went and sat in it, it was so small I felt Like I was in a coffin. I couldn't even take it for a test drive. I walked over to the X3 and took an 2 X3's for a test drive. Pretty sure I am going to get an X3 M40i it is amazing. to each there own but if you think it is too small check out the X3 don't give up on BMW. This coming from someone who never owned a BMW. I did however look at/ test drove a lot of luxury vehicles and love the BMW X3

Thanks coolvideo28 - I owned a X3 for 6 years before I 'downsized' to the X1. I realized that I didn't need the extra room and was frustrated that the X3 body style just hasn't changed much over the last almost 10 years now - But good luck to you ; its a great vehicle and I loved it the whole time I owned it!

Actually, despite being the smaller of the two, the X1 has more legroom and headroom than the X3 at 37 and 39.4 inches, respectively - the X3 offers 36.4 and 39.1 inches, respectively. Of course, the X1 is the narrower of the two.

Christina Bee I wouldn’t be concerned. BMW has fixed all mine for free usually same day. There are some great prices on used right now b/c so many leased them and leases are starting to end
