As a native woman I want to say THANK YOU for creating these videos. It's not just a video to me, you're helping dispelling stereotypes of us and bringing awareness to our communities. And you did it with such humility and grace. You dont see people covering these things often, and you did it SO well. I'm so glad they gave you a blanket 😊 we need more people like you in this world!

You are welcome, they were awesome to make and be a part of such an amazing experience. I love the blanket, I was also given eagle feathers. I keep them in a beautiful feather box and I plan to bring them to the next pow wow to have them smudged. I think that’s how you spell it😬. Thanks for watching!

On Sept 20, 2022 We played your video at our St. Albert Host Lions club as a presentation of a Pow Wows, but we also got a wonderful lesson of what a commmunity , friendship and reconciliations can look like. Thank you Rowan Elsmore for adding to our celebration of International Day of Peace and Cultural Showcase. The more we understand other cultures the more we can foster peace and understanding of peoples in community, in our country and in the world. This is one of our purposes of Lions International .Blessings of peace. You would make an awesome Leo/Lion.

Just as a side note I would get a shadow box for that blanket and those shoes and only take them out on special occasions. I am sure those are things you will value for the rest of your life. The meaning of them is priceless.

I do believe this may be one of your best videos yet! It is always great learning about ones heritage and community. If everyone would realize we are all a part of a community and support each other without expecting anything in return, the world would be a better place. Again, great work. Keep the inspiration coming.

First white person I've ever seen complement indigenous culture
@Butterfliesandbees4 жыл бұрын
Im really sorry you were never complimented, you know our culture is stunningly beautiful. And if you truly need to be told that I’m telling you now. I danced in powwows when I was younger, and gave teachings to mennonites. Whenever I was in regalia, wherever I was I would get asked if it was ok to take a picture of me or with me, they’d compliment me on my regalia, my dancing, and my indigenous features. So, it does happen. It’s just harder to remember all the compliments when others can be so racist and cruel.

Average Row Basically I from India and I'm a Hindu and I'm in a brahmin community and here in community we are taught how to live together with the people. In our community one is by birth brahmin at a certain age we worship God we have ritual and then the priest give a long 3 layered thred to wear and then one becomes a brahmin
