about how much distance are you getting on a cast? was considering casting from shore into inlets. currently have the JX which can get about 75 yards.

Haven’t really tested casting it as far as I can yet, but if I were you I would stick to the JX or get and SX G2 MC for casting because this reel is a little bulky to be casting with and it’s MC feature isn’t as effective as in the smaller reels

@@JKFishingYt my JX casts really well and actually feels over-magged to me. I am considering selling my current one and getting the raptor, going with 50lb hollow to 50lb topshot mono.

Hey if you want all the features, go for it...the raptors are the best of the best, and ya I wouldn’t go over 50 for the top shot because it will be really heavy to cast especially if it’s and onshore wind 👍

@@JKFishingYt yeah, the G2 JX does fine with 50 even at 15lbs drag setting and its about where I start feeling some side tension in spool. With raptor would not feel any of that since 15lbs of drag setting would be well below the top end. I have casted 40 too and it does do better for sure.

Makes sense, the crazy amount of drag in the raptors can definitely be the reason to buy, just because you will never really use the top end of the drag, therefore putting less pressure on the drag washers and increasing its lifetime

Is this not too big and heavy to cast 40 lb mono?

Not using it for casting...but yes if I were to cast it, I would probably use 20-30 pound only

How much 100lb braid can u fit?

I’ve heard of guys being able to fit about 400-500yds of 100lb with room for a top shot. To give you an idea I put about 300yds of 60lb with enough room for over 200yds of a 60lb mono top shot
