Great masterful playing and what the others do with a bow, he is doing it with a piece of plastic between the 2 fingers. Moving from violin to mandolin, it still sounds like Chaconne, fells like Chaconne, sings like Chaconne.

The Chaconne is like the Everest of Bach pieces. Incredible to see on mandolin!!

Masterful and compelling! Especially fine handling of the dynamics, given the narrower range possible on the mandolin. One possible account of this masterpiece, part of a partita composed when Bach was at the court of Anhalt-Cöthen, was that it was a homage to his first wife, Maria Barbara, who passed away when Bach was on a trip with the prince. Certainly nothing else seems to explain the placement of this stunning masterpiece in this partita, as it dominates the work from its expressive heights.

Hello Avi, I thoroughly enjoyed your interpretation of Bach’s Chaconne. I’ve been a passionate devotee of JS Bach my entire life and you expanded my understanding and appreciation of his music today. The conversation you draw out between the voices is so rich, it invites me to make the differences in the voices more distinct in my own playing of the inventions. I have the same piano you have, so I could actually see myself playing while watching you, which was a delight. And finally, your movements and beautiful facial expressions enhance your interpretations even more, so I know I must see you in a live performance. Thank you.

Excellent! There's nothing like Baroque music on a mandolin. Extremely well done. Quite a unique instrument there too. I'm an F-style fan myself, but that thing gives the impression it would be a very nice sounding instrument in person as well. ~s00pa'~d00pa'~ ~JSV
