You're not fat, you're a literal WOMAN. That was like such a hard thing for me to process as a teen, I actually didn't until I looked back in my 20s. I realized I was wanting my body to look like a little girl still, and I was almost 20 years old so that's just not a thing. You're absolutely gorgeous inside and out girl!
@Hannah-gn3vg Жыл бұрын
Wait until you're 29,it just totally switches! I have a belt I wore at 24 and at 29 it wasn't that I was fat hips just got wider.
@teresag5137 Жыл бұрын
also, a reminder that fat is not your enemy. your body is your home and it needs some fat to sustain itself. girls, like avia and emmi, need to keep reminding themselves that their body is their vessel for life and it does amazing things for them every day, but also that you are not your body; there's so much more to you. picking themselves apart only brings a negative perspective in and creates a warped relationship toward your own body.
@Kenzi24 Жыл бұрын
@@teresag5137 I totally agree. It makes me super sad hearing her talk about it. I had horrible self-esteem as a teen/young adult about everything, not just my looks. What helped me was trying my hardest to be as nice as I could, never talk badly about people behind their backs, never lie or steal. I started focusing on caring more about my personality than my looks and eventually my confidence grew to where my looks are not that important to me anymore.

@@Merplayz body dysmorphia is such an awful thing. I’ve dealt with it myself, just as so many others do. There’s really no getting past it besides the cliche “just love yourself.” It’s more than just surface level, once you are able to accept how you look, you’ll realize that all the negative things you have in your head about your own body start to diminish in a way. Constantly working on yourself, in the gym/exercising, helps keep my mind distracted from those negative thoughts.

I was wondering how you coped when your parents went through their rough patch, how well they are doing now and how you feel? I understand if you don’t want to speak on it but I feel like it would be good for kids who have went through similar stuff when it has come to family issues and how it’s made you into the person you are now. You're both so beautiful and seem like you have amazing personalities. I also love how close you two are, makes me wish I had a sister! It breaks my heart hearing that you sometimes feel "fat". I think this is more common as a teen/young adult and it doesn't help that influencers, social media & society in general seem to continiously glamorize being thin. I remember feeling "fat" from a young age, and it didn't help that my mom was constantly criticizing herself while trying all the latest fad diets. I grew up seeing this desire to be thin as a the norm. I developed an eating disorder as a teenager and even after years of treatment, I became obsessed with "clean" "healthy" eating as well as an addiction to exercise in order to maintain a lower weight. It's been quite the journey, and I still struggle some days even now as a 28 year old. I think it's important to speak openly about how you are feeling with whoever you're comfortable with. I love that you took the time to acknowledge the things you like about yourself after sharing your insecurities. So many young people (& even OG shaytards fans like myself) look up to you girls in many ways. Keep being you girlies❤

Avia, when you say something negative about yourself you should say twice as many positive things about yourself; You aren't looking to balance things out, you should always strive to drop more on the positive side of the scale than the negative side. Also, instead of thinking of a little extra weight as 'being fat', think of it as having a little bit of stored energy (because that is exactly what it is), ready for use. Having energy reserves makes recovering from illness less strenuous and allows you to have something left in the tank when you push beyond what you are easily capable of when being physically active.

I was on my healthy food grind, 3 walks a day, juice cleanse kick, but it quickly turned into an Ed because I was home all day everyday and it was obsessive. So who knows maybe you were doing exactly what you needed to at the time. Dieting in the midst of quarantine(for me) was toxic. :)

Avia!! You might not ever read this but I just had to say… I am 22 now. I had poor body image my whole life but when I was 17/18 years old I also shared your insecurity!! I was convinced that I was fat and crying about it all the time… it really affected my life. I just want you to know that it is not your fault. Society puts these strict expectations and beauty standards on young women in such a subtle way that you think it’s all in your head, that YOU made it up. Even if your body is perfectly healthy and normal for someone your age. I wish at your age someone told me that all young women like me were doomed to feel this way, and that there was nothing actually wrong with me. “Healthy” doesn’t always have to look like a flat stomach and small waist. And even then, no matter what your body looks like if YOU feel comfortable and beautiful in it, others will notice and see it too. Now I’m healthier, and I got a little stomach on me but I love it and wear it with pride! It’s the confidence and self-love people notice first but.. more importantly than what others think, I found a home in my body by accepting it’s inevitable flaws and loving it for it! You’re beautiful and young.. it’s so great that you’re developing a good relationship with body image & physical health bc you’re going to look back fondly in years time!! Your body changes all the time, (even at 22 vs. 17 😂), enjoy all of its stages and try, if you can, to always have compassion for yourself. ❤ Ps. I wasn’t a huge T swift fan until Nothing New… that song is completely accurate take it from me
