Thanks so much for checking out our track!! Love this reaction :) The lyrics of that one section in question are in reference to The Lexus and the Olive Tree: Understanding Globalization. "A 1999 book by Thomas L. Friedman that posits that the world is currently undergoing two struggles: the drive for prosperity and development, symbolized by the Lexus LS, and the desire to retain identity and traditions, symbolized by the olive tree."

Simply my number discovery of the last 12 months, really is a masterpiece 👏 Never tire of it, I believe the band produced the video too

The song came out in 2012 on their debut EP "A Declaration of Sound" but in 2018 they released their first full length album "The Light Years" which, one of the best prog albums of the 2010s. I highly suggest you check that album out. During the pandemic, they came out with the Retrospect EP which was a couple of their tracks instrumentalised, as well as a rerecording of Outliers with better production quality. That's the version you just listened to. Other Tracks that I nominally recommend from them are "Two Days" "Captain No-Beard" "Lullaby" and "II: The Arrival"

That was how I thought of it. A dove with an olive branch is a Biblical symbol of Peace for the reason you spoke of. It meant the Storm was over, and they had found Land. I believe that is the reference he's making with that line. One of the best lines in the track.

Bro THANK YOU for checking out my recommendation! I was worried you weren’t going to check it out lol so stoked that you did. It’s A LOT to take in, from a production/compositional standpoint these guys are just on another level. They all study at Berkelee College of Music, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world, so they are quite literally musical genuises. To answer one of your questions, this song is not new. This is from their Retrospect album where they basically revisited and remixed/remastered some of their older songs. So the song itself is not new but this version of it is. I personally am new to the band so I do not know enough of their catalogue to recommend another track but I’m sure we wouldn’t be disappointed with anything given the impression this song gave. Cheers man, glad you enjoyed the track as much as I did!

Haha appreciate the love Chris. I do my best to get to all songs suggested while also mixing in a few I really want to listen to or that may be new. Definitely glad you suggested this one. Also, that's crazy they all study there. They truly are on another level musically. It was definitely a joy and I'll be sure to check out more in the future.

The pianist/keyboardist didn't go to Berklee.

They have a video for a song called "Two Days" that really showcases their vocalist and is a departure from "Outliers " but in a really good way IMO. This band is I believe based in Boston but they were educated at Berklee....and it shows.

Dude, great reaction to this freaking epic song and bloody impeccably professional band. This band represents the penultimate in musicianship. Did I mention they're not bad? 👍😉. The lyrics; they're just trying to save the planet. That's my take on them.

Hey man! Love your reactions! You might not have heard of him yet, but I'm sure tons of people would love a reaction to Harry Mack Omegle Bars.. from beginning to end. It is 20 minutes. So reaction IS 30 mins!! Yup! But his fans usually watch the whole thing and prefer including the convos! Nobody else can blow your mind that much while stamping the biggest smile on your face.. trust me! If you speak english and appreciate music, this guy's talent is 100% unique.. NOBODY does what he does.. enjoy! Cheers
