I really loved how you followed the entire class from start to finish in ONE video - Excellent! This should be front and center on your website as the first thing prospective students can watch :)

One of the more memorable compliments I've gotten was at AviatorPPG. It was the end of day one and we were going to start flying tandems with Mike. As I'm strapping into the front seat, I hear: "Thank you for brushing your teeth and wearing deodorant." I look back, confused, and he just chuckled and said "People forget to do it sometimes, and you notice it when you're seated this close together." I think about that every time I brush my teeth.

That's when Mike doesn't give the student the break lines so the arm pits stay down.

It sounds like a lot, but they are drilled into us first. We are trained thoroughly in class and with ground handling time first. Line pulls helped boost confidents before strapping on the motor. They won't give you clearance to fly with a motor until you have the skills with the line pull and tandem flight(s) with an instructor checking your control in the air. The instructors had private meetings to evaluate each student after every step forward. You don't feel pressured to push past your capabilities. You just hope you get approval so the reward of flying will come soon. I had fewer flights than most, but they worked with me to get past my hurdles. As a first timer, there is so much adrenalin going when you're running with a motor and prop on your back. I couldn't have done it by just watching videos. I felt much safer knowing the commands would get me in the air. For me, it was a bit intimidating when I got home and no one was giving me all those commands. It was about 4 months after training before I had all the equipment and the right weather for a beginner here in Michigan. I did a bunch of kiting to rebuild my confidents and get to know my new wing. It felt awesome to take my first solo flight without any headset instruction. They will get you there near the end of training and you only get commands if they think you need them to stay safe. I got over it and love flying on my own. Now I feel like a legit pilot. I found that not everyone went home and bought equipment and still may not be flying 1.5 years later. That doesn't matter if you just want a dream come true for just two weeks. You will forever have that thrill of flying on your own in training. Honestly, knowing what I know now, I would pay twice as much for the training and experience I had at AviatorPPG.
