Damn, KZbin really does a number on these masters unfortunately. Even so, this was an incredibly fun project to work on, despite us going for a more experimental approach with the masters and sorta basing it on a combination of Let There Be Fire fused with Dreams of the Deep. With a little Halfwolf clarity sprinkled in. I highly recommend listening on a different music platform if you can though as KZbin made this super crunchy. Good work on the sampler as always, and I look forward to mastering future Aviators content! :D

'Tis a shame that most of these songs will get the most listens on KZbin when Avi makes the videos for them. The one problem I've noticed with Halfwolf and this album's clear as hell mastering is it gets crushed more by KZbin compression. :(

@@ThomasKingGaming Idek what KZbin is doing to them today, I mean on some devices they're sounding alright and on some they're sounding like a clippy mess. There is no rhyme or reason to KZbin.

Nice, tons of elden ring inspired songs. The title casting shadows is a good one, though I admit it first made me think of the game casting shadows by teeturtle games, though that is probably because I work in a board game store.

For some reason, which has nothing to do with Elden Ring, this album connects with the novel I'm writing... (the only thing they have in common is that it's dark fantasy). It makes me want to stop what I'm doing and go back to writing! For Avi (if you are reading the comments on the fan account :D), do you plan to do the instrumental version of Meet You At The End for Acoustic 3? Or another from The Bleeding Sun story?

I don't really like this album. Hopefully the next will be different. Eternal Lullaby is the only song I like from it fully. Casting Shadows is a great song, the bridge proves he's capable of mixing well but if only the rest of it was as clear... The mixing on the other songs though, especially vocals, just feels so rushed and over-processed. I noticed around "21st Century Monster" but it's been a mainstay since The Twist at The End EP. I Really hate it. He perfected layering his voice with Bonfire (A Rest) so what happened since then? Every song sounds the same and his voice sounds thinner/weaker with more focus on layering than sounding clear. I never used to have to go look at lyrics to know what he was singing before. Can he go back to mastering his own music? I only listen to the bandcamp versions so KZbin compression means little to me.

It should be noted that KZbin's compression might be at fault here. It might sound better if you listen to the songs directly on Bandcamp.

Some of this I agree with. Kinda. I disagree on the mastering being bad, its true that KZbin compression really fucks these up, more than usual. That being said, I do feel like there's some "power" that gets lost when trying to do more dynamic mixing, that makes me wonder what the choruses to Liar Liar and Cleansing Flame would sound like if they were mixed like an older Aviators song. Still, I think I'm getting used to it, and the dynamics that were never there before are suddenly clear as hell. And the vocals sound pretty thick and bass-heavy to me. Idk about that whole "thin" thing

@@ThomasKingGaming the thin-ness I should have clarified is just him not sounding strong. I noticed with the bridge on Casting Shadows that his voice is almost in the center of the mix and pretty strong (It helps that part of the song is quieter too) the rest of the song it sounds as if there's more emphasis on his layered vocals which are panned left and right. It just makes for a really awkward listen no matter if it's expensive open back mixing headphones or just inner ear earphones.
