I recently made a vacuum table for my Avid. Its good for big sheets, but the smaller stuff you still need to clamp or use tape. what you made will be better for the cutting boards. Like you said nothing covers everything. Nice work and thanks for taking the time to share.

Couple pieces of scrap melamine on the vac table will do the trick for the small'ish pieces. Anything really small and it's tape and CA clue like you suggested. IMHO the vacuum table is an essential addition long term.

Depends on what kid of vacuum table you made, if you're running a shop vac or actual vacuum pumps. I have a 5x10 and built my own replica of the shopsabre f4 pump with 10 independent zones, when I do small stuff and focus all the vacuum pressure to a 2x2 zone and mask off any unused surface are of said zone even when I cut through material nothing moves a fraction. This design of spoilboard I had prior to my vacuum table and there is no comparison, my only gripe is not doing the vacuum table sooner

I hope your water heater is electric and doesn't cause a fire with all that mdf dust, I have a 5x10 avid and use a 2-3/4" amana spoilboard cutter and I get zero dust, but I am running a 3hp dust collector. That shoe you have isn't very efficient as it always sucks the air on the side of the bit. They have 35$ dust shoes that surround and focus suction around the bit rather than next to it. Great video !

I noticed the hook came off of your Rockler ceiling track. Is it missing end caps?
