At 1.50 I'd just put the video monitoring to V1. It's marginally quicker than changing the foreground opacity.

Ctrl + drag should hold the bezier handles perfectly horizontal on a drag. You can’t not have that. A modern designer will not put up with these tools considering all of the alternatives that have basic…I mean basic operational control.
