Avidyne DFC90 Digital Autopilot - Product Overview

Is there any more airframes to be added ? We have a Commander 112TCA with the Stec 55x/Avidyne 540 and this A/P would be perfect for us. As of now the only option to get a Commander certified digital autopilot is to go with Garmin 500 since Genesys dropped the ball with their 3100 certification. The Garmin 500 is a good A/P but the 55x still performs quite well and to rip it out for a completely new install is just not worth it. If the Stec55x fail in the future, the only way forward for us is to go full Garmin (G3x, G5, G500, 650) and trade in our beloved IFD540….

We don't currently have a plan for the DFC90 in the Commander 112TCA. We have installations with our IFDs and GFC500 that work just fine, so it's not necessarily a requirement to give up your IFD540 should you move to the GFC.
