As soon as they say lettuce on tacos and not cabbage you already know they lost any taco argument. Tomato? Wrong , try caramelized onions. Instead of sausage , you get chorizo. Breakfast tacos? You get a platillo where the tortilla isn’t the main focal point . You still use it to make “tacos” but you’re tearing pieces of the tortilla to do so instead of it all being in one.

Only tacos I've seen use cabbage are shrimp tacos, but I usually only put onion and cilantro on mine. Pico de gallo has tomato in it so I guess you could get away with saying that. And there is such a thing as breakfast tacos at least down here in Texas. Usually tortilla de harina with egg and potatos or egg and some kind of meat like bacon or chorizo sometimes refried beans in there too.

Taco trucks in California especially central Cali / so-cal set up their tacos with these ingredients: cabbage, cilantro, onion , the meat of choice and lemon wedges /radish slices on the side (of course the green/red salsa or pico de gallo is optional)

Tip to preserve avocados: cover them in water. If you make Guacamole and want to keep it green for the next day, pat the surface of the guacamole down so it's flat and GENTLY pour water on top. You can pour the water onto the back of a spoon similar to how you would layer a drink, the idea is to disrupt the surface of the guac as little as possible. The fat of the avocado should keep the guac separate from the water and the water should stop oxygen from oxidizing the guac. When ready to eat, just gently pour the water out. Works better than lemon or covering the guac with saran wrap imo.
