@Lynda Maddison I was not prepared for the ensuing years of misery after I started Peri, worse time of my life! The anxiety and panic attacks, also the bowel issues, had me not wanting to leave home. All I can say is this, it does get better, I am now 57 with just the odd hot flush, but I do still get the pelvic like cramps as if I'm going to get a period..... moods have settled quite a lot. Good luck Lynda.

Started losing my balance, really severely, falling to the floor, staggering along the road as if drunk, unable to walk in a straight line. After 2 years was eventually diagnosed with 'silent' migraines which were affecting my balance, vision and feeling spaced out. Was given meds which really helped reduce the vertigo, consultant said it was probably due to menopause and to restrict certain foods as I had now become sensitive to them since the menopause, cheese and chocolate seem to trigger them.

It was px to me by a consultant so your GP might not be keen or try to fob you off with something more sedative and with side effects as Nortriptyline is more expensive with less side effects. My GP tried to change it to a less expensive drug with more side effects, which my consultant warned me about but I contested it as needed to drive in my job as a community nurse. I was on it for just over a year and it helped but came off it as soon as I felt able to. I only took 10 mgs per day but some people need much more, thankfully the lower dose worked well for me. Informative video Eileen. I resonate with all these womens posts and find the my symptoms are just a roulette everyday that go from mild and extreme symptoms at times are very scary. At the moment my eyes are of real concern blury sometimes with mild pains. I have had regular eye test in fact 2 in the last 12 months and have been told my eye health is good but I have now asked to be referred by to a specialist as my left eye is problematic every day. Alot of pain in my ovaries just before my period really hurts but not a cramp more a deep pain. I worry so much as single mum, I work full time for the NHS and have a very busy and pressured job. Now 46 and have been on HRT gels for a year. I feel for all ladies going through this and appreciate very much these videos x

Hi Laney You may find the Sea Buckthorn Oil can help with the eye, please see www.omega7.co.uk for more info on this. Ovary pain is best checked out just to eliminate PCOS which can sometimes appear in the peri-menopause and you may also find a magnesium supplement, 150mg twice a day can help to ease the discomfort and also help with anxiety.

I started menopause in 2018, I started bio identical hormone therapy 4 months later. Two weeks ago, I stopped taking hormones, because I got a lump in my breast from using the hormones. I have to get surgery to get the lump removed. I was told the lump is (Atypical) cells, that will eventually turn into cancer. Now I’m high risk for cancer. One week after stopping the hormones, I started bleeding for approx. 4-5 days, like spotting bleeding. I don’t feel well I’m tired most times. I feel like I have slowed down a lot, and I can’t keep up. Brain fog is horrible. I’m taking vitamins supplements for menopause, such as MenoSense and Black Cohosh and so much more. it’s help a bit, but I don’t feel like myself anymore, I’m way off. I’m trying to find my normal balance and peace of mind again. I don’t know if that’s possible. Can you recommend anything to make my life better?
@AvogelCoUk3 жыл бұрын
Hi Iliana In this situation we don't recommend any of the phyto-oestogen remedies such as Black Cohosh as these may affect your oestrogen levels further. Unfortunately, coming off any kind of HRT can upset the body causing fatigue, low mood/anxiety so you may find a general health tonic such as Biostrath or Floradix (if you live in the UK or Ireland) can give you a bit of a boost. Acupuncture can often be helpful in this situation so maybe look into that, if it's possible where you are. Best Wishes Eileen

Hi Tupelo You’re welcome, glad to be of help! Getting cold straight after a flush is very common and usually to do with the sweat produced by the flush evaporating quickly which cools down the skin. Falling oestrogen can affect the eyes and eyesight but it is best to get a general eye test by your optician and just mention to them that you are in the menopause so they can take this into account. Check your water intake as dehydration can cause a spaced out feeling but I would also get your blood pressure checked as well as low blood pressure can cause this too.

@AvogelCoUk5 жыл бұрын
Hi Marina Itchy skin is a common symptoms and often caused by high levels of histamine. You may find the herb nettle can be of benefit if taken every day, or you could have 2 cups of nettle tea daily. Falling oestrogen can affect the mucus membranes of the nose which can result in dry nose and thinner nasal skin which could make you more susceptible to nose bleeds. You may find taking a supplement called Sea Buckthorn Oil can help with this.

Interested to hear you say cucumber is a wonder food. Can I ask why? Ive always thought cucumber was just water.
@AvogelCoUk5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are right, cucumber is 95% water but the other 5% is jam packed with nutrients such as magnesium, potassium, vit K, B vits, copper, manganese, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties and fibre. As well as helping with your fluid balance it will give you small amounts of just about everything you need! It is a very cheap but wonderful food and is very low calorie. I usually take approx. 6-7cm chunk every day as part of my snacks. There are lots of interesting articles on Google about the benefits of cucumber so do have a look.
