I use mineral oil or vaseline, generally recognized as safe when I don't have instrument specific lubricant specified by sone merchandiser. I don't like vaseline so I do use lanolin (grease from wool) when I need a heavy grease.

I'm a beginner. I have not previously seen any reference to adjustment screws in any of the saxophone videos I have watched. The information is precious to all and clear fingernail polish over top of adjusted screw is good Another option for screws loosening us thread locking compound, some should never be used on a saxophone. There is one that might be useful by Vibra-Tite brand that can be used up to 5 times without reapplication, but if it nakes tiny screw difficult to turn then the clear nail polish over top of adjusted screw is a far better solution.

I learned this trick from my repair tech. Another helpful use for the polish is if your neck is loose in the receiver joint: paint a little bit on one side of the neck tenon, and it will help get you a better fit. You'll have to repeat this occasionally as the polish dries out and peels off, but it's a simple, effective fix.
