Bummer about the ankle. Sometimes sprains are worse than a broken bone to get healed up. Wearing a boot helps speed the process up…it’s a pain in the butt but 🤷🏻♂️

As soon as I saw your ankle Sara you could tell it was ligament damage, the look of half a tennis ball is a dead give away. Take it easy on it as it takes a while to heal, and even when it feels good take it easy as it will be easy to do it again but will be worse next time. So rest up, keep it elevated and a compression bandage helps a lot.

Another brilliantly detailed vlog. Great seeing all the nitty-gritty of the helm. Lee, you did great not dropping that washer off the shaft when reassembling ... I can guarantee it would have fallen off for me! Glad the ankle wasn't more badly damaged and hope you're properly back on your feet now Sara. And as for you, Bella, you're hilarious with the commentary. (And when feeding those cables, where you just talking or mimicking your mum/dad, as that was a classic and so funny to watch!). Have a great week Catalpa family ❤

I know you're well past this part by now, and I haven't finished the video yet, but I sent my instrument backbone cables down the binnacle guard tube. I opened up the hole in the nav pod to guard tube big enough to fit the seatalk ng cable ends. I didn't like the idea of ANY wires in the binnacle. The only one I didn't move out of there was the compass light. It was not nearly as mission critical, and there was no direct path from the guard tube to the compass.

What Lee and Sarah have shown the kids from leaving Australia in 2014 and through Indonesia over that time - plus 10months on the hard stand rebuilding another boat will give them great knowledge for the rest of their lives. Nothing like hands on experience.
