Once you understand the nature of watercolor and how "mud" happens we can avoid it when we paint on our watercolor paper. Taking our understanding of how pigments move in water I apply that knowledge to apply pigment onto paper. Normally if you mix yellow, red, and blue you will get mud. But there is a way to get beautiful vibrant greys from warm greys to cool greys by letting watercolor mix itself.
This demonstration shows you how I let pigments mingle on the paper naturally using water and dropping pigments. By letting the pigments mix naturally by them self on the paper mud is avoided and lovely vibrant secondary, and tertiary colours are achieved.
Let's stop making mud and start letting watercolors do all the hard work which means more fun for us!!!
