Massive depreciation, brutal reliability, and junk cars are displayed in our video this week. These are my opinions, but they're backed up with lots of research and facts about the cars. We'll walk through some of the technical details of how these are built and what's in them, but we'll also talk about why you might find your bank account being drained by these junk cars.
In my opinion, these are the worst cars to buy in a lot of ways. Avoid these cars!

He was speaking straight facts on the depreciation of the 7 series. Imagine financing a vehicle that costs 100,000 dollars and then 2 years later try to trade it in only to be told your vehicle is only worth 40,000 and you have the pay off all the negative equity in order to get into another vehicle damn that’s crazy

@@ECPPYou mentioned Toyota, Lexus , Honda and You can probably put Acura there as well. Very Good Cars from very Reputable Companies but the way car prices are right now and that includes interest rates, the average person can't afford them. How about Cars that the average person can afford and can last a long time without any costly issues.

The first gasoline powered car was built 138 freakin years ago, so reliability issues are absolutely UNNACCEPTABLE in this day and age. Any automaker who puts out an unreliable car should be boycotted out of existence.

@@Blue-moon12 That's true, but it has been 10 years and four months. If something major were to happen today, I wouldn't regret buying it. But as far as the problems shown (coolant leak, oil leak, sagging door, broken grill, etc.) nothing at all has happened. My wife and I have had three other GM products, a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE and two Saturns (a 93 or 94 SW2 and a 2002 SC2). I think if you take care of the vehicles, they're worth the money. If you drive like a race car driver and don't regularly change the oil, then that's something else. The Pontiac was supposed to be a piece of junk. The only problem I had was at the end when there was a problem with the key, which I could have had fixed. I had that car for 12 years.

I had a 2015 Chevy Cruze LTZ that I bought brand new when it came out. Put 158k miles on it and the only problem I ever had was at 110k miles the valve cover gasket needed to be changed as it was starting to leak oil. Was a simple easy job to do. And I had to upgrade the brake rotors as they warped on the first trip to the mountains in the car. Outside of that it was reliable provided you take care of the car. Keep up with maintenance. The downside though is well I hated the car lol. Was the most uncomfortable cheaply made car I've ever driven. Everything will rattle. If you are on a 8+ hour road trip your lower back and hips will hate you. I have a 2014 Mercedes E350 coupe now that has been rock solid and much more comfortable on trips, still gets 30mpg, although premium fuel costs, and has been reliable. It's now at 128k miles and still trucking. That is probably one thing I would advise on anyone buying Mercedes. Buy one that uses a NA engine. Turbos / supercharges just adds more wear and tear. Unless you have deeper pockets to cover those kind of expenses.

I just sold my Dodge Challenger 6.4 Shaker 57 of 70 aniversery fully speced. Drag pack, performance pack in Gold Rush color with Matt hood, roof trunck, and tail. At 28k my water pump leaked. At 47k the infamous hemi tick, mis fiers on cylinder 6 due to coil pack, and spark plug. Both my window actuators went out 3 times, my defrost went out wich requires running wires from front to trunk. All under warrenty. My water pump went out again at 48k.... The Mitsubishi Mirage really shouldn't be on that list. "Doors that fall off" anecdotes isn't exactly what I would call a technical analysis of the car. I had a 2019 and I can tell you when I hit that deer at 70mph on the Garden State Parkway last year in November the driver airbag deployed as well as the knee airbag. The car fell apart but it's supposed to do that to absorb the energy and I walked away. Is it loaded with cheap plastics from the Mattel toy aisle? Yes. Is it the slowest gasoline powered production car in the market today? Probably. But I have to tell you I had my Mirage for two years, crashed it with 33k miles and the car never had rattles or squeaks. They make these in Thailand and sell the 💩 out of them there and in the Philippines. Fuel economy isn't spectacular for a 3 cylinder, you get 30-40mph depending on the conditions. But I would recommend this car to anyone who doesn't have a lot of money and is looking to get it new with that 10/100k powertrain warranty. You just need to +1 or +2 the tires and that's really it.

@@subaruamazon I don't think that it's a question of reliability as much as it is build quality and materials quality. Mitsubishi for sure cuts corners and assembles things in a low quality way, however I think they focused more on powertrain reliability and a lot less on fit and finish. That's the path they've decided to go, love it or hate it. If you sit inside and modern Mitsubishi and you start to push in on interior panels as well as exterior panels you'll notice the panels have a lot of give and they squeak, creak or rub against another panel when pushed in, however when you're going down the road the vehicle is otherwise quiet, it's like a David Copperfield trick or something. I just leased a 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV for 2 years and even the Outlander, Mitsubishi's flagship vehicle here in the states, has the same panel issue. Even the seats only have the synthetic leather covering only the parts of the seat that you see and feel, the outboard portion of the front seats are wrapped in synthetic leather but not the inboard portion 😆.

@@subaruamazon I know Hudson County very well... back when Bruce Walter was mayor of Union City, then Menendez became mayor and then I guess Rudy/Brian Stack came behind. I know a lot about the corruption up there 😆. I've been in Middlesex County now for 17 years. I was on my way to see Scotty Kilmer in Rhode Island, he was going to review the Mirage. I hit the deer about an hour into the four hour trip, I was up in the Woodcliff Lake area. I didn't have any time to react, the cruise control was on and all I saw was my windshield shattered and the airbag popped out, I never saw the deer at all, it all happened in one literal second. Up there the GSP has only 2 lanes, I was in the right lane taking my time, I was ahead of schedule to see Scotty, the Mirage scooped up the buck and flung him over the left lane and he landed in the grassy median.

Thanks very much and great choice on cars. We have always owned Golfs as well over the years and love the way they drive, practical as well. The Charger's are the ones I actually looked at a couple of years ago too as I prefer that body over the Challenger and the V8 is a great punchy unit. The Demon is mesmerizing, but a big price to pay for power that will only be used fro time to time. With that said, I also was a little less than dazzled over the interior material quality as well as fit and finish, and I would say the VW has a more stapled together feel than the Dodge for sure. The Dodge is the way, if you want big V8 sound and punch but there is a tradeoff indeed and as long as a person is good with that, either will work. Hope you also have a very Merry Christmas. See you on the other side of 2023. Cheers.

Since the big three got rocked in the eighties and got their clocks cleaned by the japanese, they never learned that people want reliable cars that dont live in the shop. I enjoy your videos man. Quick and to the point on each unit. What are your thoughts on a 2021 Mazda Mazda6 Signature? I recently traded a 2020 Frontier SV 4x4 with 34k miles for the Mazda which had 22k miles. I know the vehicles are worlds apart, that was the idea. The Mazda wins big time in the comfort and appearance dept. Ive had several Frontiers and a 2016 Altima 3.5 SR which was a fun car but suddenly developed a strange loss of coolant issue. It wasnt leaking, nor was it mixing anywhere. And of course Nissan couldnt find the issue. That car was traded for Frontier #2. Anyway, what are your thoughts on Mazda vs Nissan reliability? Rock On \m/

Man maybe Im lucky with my chargers but I've owned all three gens and never had any problems... first gens I made it to 130k miles with a 2009 3.5L one and never changed nothing ever on it until a buck crashed into it. my other 2008 5.7 AWD have 120k and I only changed the waterpump for some reason... second gen 2014 5.7 AWD I made it to 160k miles and only changed the alternator and a tie rod. And my current gen 2019 6.4 I have only 25k miles so thats not enough to judge yet.

Well , I have a Chrysler 300 3.6 and he is right unfortunately, as much as I love the car , I had thermostat issues and also false emergency breaking system issues which twice almost made my car crash. Fuel pump issues , Steering wheel problems and so on. So far spent about 1400$ to fix all of those , but unfortunately something new comes up almost every day. Haven’t given up the idea of spending and fixing it so far, but yeah, I think expect that with dodges / Chryslers

I call BS on the Charger,or Chrysler LX platform. Transmissions being junk yet it's a ZF 8 speed which is probably the best automatic on the market. Thermostats failing? All cars will eventually need a thermostat. Along with an alternator. If you want to talk about stuff that's actually junk, this list should have any GM vehicle with a stretched timing chain 3.6, anything Korean with a direct injection 4 cylinder,GM trucks with the atrocious 6L80E and displacement on demand motors,Ford Eco boom 4 cylinders. To list a Charger on here is just plain stupid.

Good thing the XJL is no longer in production, and you can buy a late model of one for a significant discount from new. That Chrysler 200 is a nightmare to drive based on my rental experience for sure. I'd stay as far away from anything Stelantis as you possibly can. They are pretty much guaranteed to burn your wallet. Speaking of burn my wallet, the 7 Series looks amazing, but they come with that awesome exploding V8 90%of the time, which makes you have to fight your lizard brain, which wants the styling. I wonder what that electric version of the 7 series would be like to look after, though.

Give me the worst one new and I bet it runs flawlessly for 7 years and 100K miles for me. 😅 I seem to specialize in making "unreliable" cars reliable. 2012 Buick Enclave with the 3.6: 155K miles, only water pump, alternator, AC compressor replaced. 2011 Jag XJ Supercharged: 107K miles, water pump, engine fan replaced. 2017 Alfa Giulia Ti: 85K miles, AC compressor replaced. Just got 2022 Audi A4 last year: 29K miles under warranty. 😂

Here’s what you do. Own a car long enough that you don’t care about depreciation because you know when you go to sell it it’ll be worth $1000 anyway. I paid $43,000 for a Volvo 12 years ago. It’s worth about three grand. I’ll drive it for another few years.

Charger is a solid reliable car....The Chrysler 300 is Consumer Reports most reliable car and its the exact same as the Charger, just different body style...Those seats are very comfortable!! Better than most cars with hard seats you die after 10 minutes of driving! Lots of the issues you mention were from the 05-10 the 11-23 are well built solid cars...I put 185,000 miles on mine with zero issues...We owned several others, including a 2018 Hellcat Challenger (still own)but the 185,000 mile car was a 5.7 Hemi zero issues...I have a few family members with the 3.6 and one has 110,000 miles with no issues.. I was a certified Toyota Tech from 1993-2013 when I retired before I turned 40..These 2011-up Charger/Challenger/300 have fewer issues than a lot of Toyota products! Yes I owned Toyota products as I worked for them but being 6'4 the Chrysler L series cars are the most comfortable and even reliable cars I could buy...The seats are even more comfortable than any truck by any manufacturer around! Resale value is high on used L series cars but like anything a bad economy will sink any car..I bought many new Chrysler vehicles as the owner of my dealer I worked for he had a Toyota,Lexus and Chrysler dealer,so he didnt get pissed I didnt only buy a Toyota lol
