Oh they do give out amenity kits - you have to request for them. It is Penthaligon amenity set. I grabbed two off them four months ago.

These seats are only available in A380. The most annoying part is, when you booked your flight i advance, you can’t pre-select one of these seats. I think SG Airlines reserved these seats for people with babies or with mobility issues and usually release the seats days before your flight. Luckily, my husband and I managed to get the couple seats( row 96) a day before our flight.. So, thanks to you.. Im flying mid 2024 again from LHR and rang customer service for me to get one of these seats in advance. I was told it was all booked up. I told them I have back and shoulder issues. They would only reconsider jt if I could get a sick note from my doctor.. 🙄

If you have Business Class, make sure to do Book the Cook before your flight online under Manage Booking. The meal offerings from the different chefs are outstanding for an airlines and much better than the inflight menu. Great video though.

No they're (the Book the Cook offerings) are not outstanding. We did Book the Cook pre-covid and the steak was overdone to b*ggery. Plus the Lobster Thermidor was like cheesy slush. Vastly overrated. Having said that, we are flying Sing Business again next Sep Melb to London, but this time we will just order from what's on offer once on board.

We booked it through Suite Inn! They’re similar to Sonder. It’s an alternative to Airbnb as the company actually owns and manages the apartments. So there’s no weird chore lists or other people’s gross stuff laying around lol.

You can't pre-book bulkhead seats unless you have high PPS status. IF they are still available, they will become available when check in opens...but you won't get them in advance by calling up or going online.

Brilliant video. Honestly, when it comes to onboard service, Singapore Airlines is 2nd to no one. Also, in regards to the bulkhead seats. These seats are always blocked for Singapore Airlines PPS members. A few days before departure, the airport staff will release the seats to the public if no PPS is booked in these bulk head seats.

When flying Singapore Airlines business class, I always go online at the 100, 96, 72 and 24 hour time marks before departure time to try to book those bulk head seats. If you are not PPS and getting those bulk head seats are important for you, try to book the more expensive Z or C class fares and you can select them at the time of booking.

I think it was also a security issue, I remember that there were extra criteria for qualifications to sit on seats next to the emergency exit as they had to ensure that the access would be kept clear in case of emergencies so one of the things you should NEVER say if you want to get a seat next to the emergency exits is "I have a physical disability and need more legroom" as that would be a big no-no to have a possible obstruction for the exits. They rather keep those seats clear unless out of options, hence the late bookings.

It's not just JFK where the catering is sub par, but I also believe the catering from most US airports are also that way. I guess it has to do with union employees. Was that price for one-way or roundtrip. All cash or did you use miles?

Yeah as far as I can tell, Singapore hands out amenities on a on-demand basis rather than giving out a kit. So if you need a toothbrush, they’ll give you one. If you need an eye mask, they’ll give you one. It’s a bit odd to be honest!

I flew this same flight in March (buying an upgrade) and experienced the same thing: these seats really are lousy for sleeping. Your legs have to contort to fit into the footwell. Was not as comfortable as the premium economy seat I had going the other way.

The biggest mistake is you paid cash for your fare. Best value for premium cabins is using frequent flyer miles on long haul. Flying shorter sectors with long layovers for lounge experiences works well also. Doing it all again next month with QF ex PER and SQ ex Manila for the return.

I've always found Singapore Airlines business class to be excellent (perhaps not Emirates bling but super comfy, and definitely more private). Lufthansa are awful and that European business class you tried, I had that last time back from Australia, it's pretty lame. The satay on board SA is definitely not to be missed. Yum.

Misleading info, always be careful with such seats, like on row 11 which is close to the lavatories, not good. Also, bassinets, too often found on front row seats, get seats a bit away from those unless the smell of diapers and the sound of crying kids is your thing, but row 11 dont have them - 91 and 96 do. Always go for a more average seat but remember those too can be near a lavatory or bassinet.

Travelling by Singapore airlines from Bengaluru in premium economy is waste u will pay higher fare for mixed cabin economy/ premium economy. Whereas from Mumbai u pay less and enjoy full premium economy. While traveling from Bengaluru i paid rs 215000 from Mumbai i have paid only 153000 only. What is the logic i donot understand.

Lol yeah it was terrible. The level of DGAF among the staff there was pretty incredible. Amsterdam on the other hand was great to transit through. I know things have been a mess on the front end for them and with the luggage but I found the transit experience to be very smooth when we flew KLM. That video will be out soon!

It's a different prospect in Economy. I just flew SIN - LHR on a packed A380 in the middle section, isle seat. I had a large gentleman next to me forcing me into the isle traffic. I was bumped several times by SIA staff, none of the apologized! The food was OK at best. I will go back to Eva Air next time direct LHR - BKK. The industry leader in my book.

The tip was to try and get a bulkhead row, of which there are three on the plane and mostly reserved for crew. Apparently it gives extra legroom and allows your legs to stretch straight out rather than at an angle.

I flew the same route (JFK-FRA) and on to Singapore several times back and forth (in business class on A380) in the last few months and despite all the hype surrounding Singapore Airlines I was generally disappointed. Here are the main complaints: 1. There are no luggage bins above seats in center isle. You have to share the luggage compartment above the window seat at your level with the person sitting there 2. There is essentially no storage room around your seat. All blankets, pillows and personal items have to go on the floor if you want to use the foot cubicle for your feet 3. When you do that, your seat may refuse to recline beyond a certain point as it starts squeezing all the stuff on the floor moving forward.4. Seats look very nice but are actually pretty hard to sit on for 8-12 hours 5. The main complaint is that the only area where you can place your feet in a semi-reclined or fully reclined chair position is not right in front of you but off to the side (the monitor and a wall below is directly in front of you) so you have to sit diagonally for hours or keep your feet down on the floor. The situation is even more uncomfortable when you try sleep 6. Service was OK but not great. Not all flight attendants speak clear English through their face masks so you have to really concentrate on what they are trying to tell you especially in the dark. Meals are being served mechanically, often without common sense. For instance, at dinner time bread is often served late when you are almost done eating the appetizers. Wine selection is minimal and it took me a while to explain to a nice attendant what port wine was (they did not know and did not stock it anyway). To summarize, I think the years of glory for Singapore Airlines are over. At the moment the airline is trying to recoup Covid-related losses by cutting corners.

Great review. Flew Singapors many times from LAX to Bangkok then another airline to Chaing Mai. Also Singapore to Vietnam and to Cebu philippines. Al business class. Had take alaska from Seattle to LAX. I was solo so took a window seat and my legs were at an angle. Did book a chef that works out great. It is about 13 hour flight to Singapore and chage there. This was before covet. Now us Eva Air for they. fly out of Seattle to Asia and am relocating to the Philippines. As it safer there in the US for the street violence against conservatives. Prefer Vietnam but visas are just 30 days, no retirement visa.
