This video provides a practical demonstration of how a ship at sea takes action to avoid a tropical revolving storm (TRS).
The method used to avoid the storm is based on the 1-2-3 rule that plots the TRS's accurately known position and the projected position for the next 24 and 48 hours.

I like the illustration, very practical approach. Two things I really like 1) The vessel safety is priority but in reality the commercial value of cargo is put as priority by vessel management and owners, this approach solved the two problems. 2) when reports like this are given it’s always what the master should have done correctly, pushing the theory most seafarer carry in their head ‘the office don’t care how you do it, only if there is a mistake then they will come to check’ This illustration of positive action is commendable, most importantly using it as a case study for best practice is just beautiful to see. Thank you sir

There are 2 methods, sector and 1-2-3 rule.
