I always thought #occupationaltherapy was kinda redundant, but you're really starting to get me to change my mind a bit. #motivational #freedom #basedpilled

That's so awesome to hear! OT is such a broad field with so many interesting aspects and specialities that have the potential to and have already positively changed many lives (without trying to sound dramatic haha). I think its definitely an underestimated and misunderstood profession. Glad to play a small part in changing that. Thanks for your comment :)

Hi! I'm glad I came across your channel, and I loved your vlog and the personality that comes across! I was actually looking for any perspectives on occupational therapy and career burnout(/regret?). I'm currently in the middle of retaking/taking prerequisites for the CSUDH grad program. Today I came across a forum where OT professionals, new and seasoned, discussed their burnout and regret in the field, and voiced their concerns about being stuck in SNFs, upon other issues. Was there ever a time that you had doubts about OT as a career, or how you overcame any struggles on following through with OT?

Hey Johnathan. I think burnout is such an important topic for any profession especially such emotionally giving professions such as OT. I've personally had doubts throughout my entire "OT Journey" from university right through to this year (my first year as an OT) if this was the "right" profession for me e.g. will it be challenging enough, will I get bored, am I giving up on other fields of interest/will I regret not pursing them. I think its something a lot of people my age are currently experiencing - with so many options and opportunities a lot of us don't know what to do with our lives/"am I pursing the right career? I'm honestly still have these thoughts and don't have an exact long term plan for where I want to be in the future and what I want to be doing. It's definitely something I can expand more on in future video.

@@EndlessEducationOT thank you so much for answering back, it means a lot to speak from your experience and viewpoint as a new professional in the field. I'll definitely stay subscribed to keep up with your vids. Having a side hobby like yours in music must help a lot too! Best wishes to you, as you say you're still having these thoughts. Also, for what it's worth, you have a great KZbin personality, if that makes sense lol, makes your videos engaging and relatable to watch!
