Now here's a theory (a musical theory ) : it probably is a prequel because; - Throughout TGWDLM the news reporters are Dan and Donna from Hatchetfield (until the end when they're Rachel and Rod from Clivesdale cuz everyone from Hatchetfield died y'know) and in the Black Friday teaser the first line is a female voice saying (or rather *reporting*) "Have you heard about this Dan?" - We starkid fans are quite familiar with the definition of *foreshadowing*... so the moment Paul in TGWDLM was talking to that one PEIP dude who mentions cleaning up messes of the same nature as the alien-musical-zombie-apocalypse there and Paul says "Are you saying stuff like this has happened before?" was the moment we shoudl've put our tinfoil hats on and started theorizing Some other stuff to theorize about : - Hot chocolate guy has a name and will appear in another part of the Hatchetfield trilogy - New names have been dropped that will appear in Black Friday (Tom Houston, Lex Foster and Becky Barnes whom Paul knows and Emma hates? Could this be Hot Chocolate boys name? HMMM 🤔) - Ted has a last name but revealing it will spoil stuff so ... What's Teds' last name? Start your bets now! - Probably some other stuff that i havent caught on yet, so I'll be off rewatching the teasers and tgwdlm and wait for Robert or anyone else to eventually slip up and say something interesting :D

If Emma and Paul are both significantly in this one, they probably would have known each other, and they don't. Also, don't you think that someone might have, in TGWDLM, mentioned the other alien invasion that happened a while back? Like 'huh this reminds me of the tickle me wiggly thing' - and if Paul and Emma were the same age or around there, it would have happened recently. Also I just really want it to be a sequel okay.

@@ChidoriVongola I sincerely hope MatPat watches Starkid 😭 also I'm hoping it's a prequel but what the Black Friday trailer really reminded me of is this weird ass comedy horror trilogy (much less of a comedy tho) from Kevin Smith. Some fucking weird shit goes down in all three movies but even though the characters are connected and some of them reoccurring, the "supernatural/horror" stuff makes no sense in eachother's world's. One movie is literally about turning a dude into a human walrus, the prequel is about one of the characters from that movie fighting off nazi hot dogs at a convenient store (something along those lines, after Tusk I really didn't have the heart to watch it or the other one in the trilogy). Also sequels are just boring and I feel like since Starkid is building a universe here, it's best to go back instead of forward also I totally agree with you about the "incident that has happened before"

It's funny bc I was in a production of Les Mis last year and we had a thing where we would sing Gavroche's verse in The Beggars but it was just " 'OW DO YA DO MY NAME'S GAVROCHE" repeated over and over again, slowly intensifying until the end where we were practically screaming it, so the whole "working as a waitress in a cocktail bar"/ first line every line thing made me think of that (also "you better watch out, you better watch out, YOU BETTER WATCH OUT, YOU BETTER WATCH OUT")
