Hey! I’m a singer and I can say that Layton was definitely just having a bad day which is why he sounds “off”. As well as it being extremely cold where they performed (vocal chords are muscles so they have to be warm to work properly) it sounds as though he might have been sick. Sickness can often cause shortness of breath which in turn makes singing a struggle as literally the foundation of singing healthily is breath control. So many factors go into performing so it impossible to expect singers to sound flawless every day. I guarantee you, he is a brilliant vocalist and will be worth watching live 😊

So I'm studying to become a teacher. One day, my sister and I put on this video to just sing and dance along while waiting for people to show up. There was one classmate. A girl wearing a hijab who's been told many times that that will be a struggle teaching/getting a job. As soon as she saw this video, she was so extremely touched by the girls wearing hijabs in this video. so thank you for the diversity!

I love Layton, since I discovered him as a rising star in Beautiful People, but he sounded muffled in this rendition, not on point, like his voice was breathy and in need of some oomph. He might have been nervous or something, but the other guy was crystal clear in his deliverance and so well tuned, it's hard to compare. Layton is an absolutely fabulous actor and dancer, so that helps

I think everybody needs to realise every Jamie’s gonna be to different. Some will be better than others. And it’s ok to not like a certain Jamie, because they all bring something new like John brought fun/iconic/facial expressions to his, while Layton brought bubbly/sass, while Noah brought emotion/sensitivity. Yes we are all sad to see a Jamie go and a new cast to take over. You can not like a certain Jamie or prefer others but you don’t have to say things like “This Jamie ruined the show” “This Jamie is awful/rubbish” “This Jamie can’t hit the notes” “This Jamie can’t dance and has no facial expressions” e.t.c. Just coz you don’t like them doesn’t mean that you have to say it and doesn’t mean any Jamie did any worse or couldn’t do it right. Thank you

I am very much inclined to agree. His breathy, rushed, messy delivery of this song is so off-the-mark. The lyrics to ‘And You Don't Even Know It’ are so witty and without the lyrics being shown, I am quite sure that the vast majority of listeners would miss the bulk of them.
